A Flagger is responsible for directing traffic in or around the construction site. This requires the use of signs, flags, panels or traffic control devices. The Flagger may be required to assist the Traffic Control Supervisor laying out the traffic control devices according to the traffic control plan.
Flagger will also assist with general labor responsibilities when they are not directing traffic.
Job Responsibilities include:
Assist with assemble, positioning and cleaning of devices/equipment used for directing traffic.
Controlling traffic will be done in accordance with the traffic control plan.
Set-up and removal of traffic control devices at the start and end of the day.
Ensure the devices are working properly.
Set-up electronic devices.
Ensure traffic lanes are clear.
Performs tasks involving the use of their hands and hand tools such as tying rebar, cutting, using pneumatic and electrical power tools.
Operates a variety of equipment including hand and power tools: air hammers, earth tampers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment.
Cleans and prepares job sites, digs trenches, and places shoring to support the sides of excavations.
Signals operators on machinery.
Pour and help finish concrete.
Position, join, and align pipe sections.
Remove framework from set concrete.
Help the journeymen with any job duties involved in the construction and demolition process.
Cleaning and preparing construction sites to eliminate hazards.
Controlling traffic passing near work zones.
Pouring, and spreading concrete, and providing assistance to craft workers such as masons, utility and carpenters.
Regular attendance required.
Willing to travel and must be able to supply their own transportation.
Do construction laborer work when required
1+ year traffic control and/or construction industry experience is required
Certification through American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) - We will enroll you in a class
Must be willing to do construction laborer work when required
Might be required to work weekends - must be willing to work weekends when required
Must have own transportation to work
Must be able to stand for long periods of time in hot temperatures and cold termperatures
