Our Lockheed Martin Space site in Littleton, CO has an immediate need for a Traffic Administrator Manager.

In this role your responsibilities may include:

  • Coordination with Shipping customers and Packaging Engineering group to establish pack and ship requirements to ensure shipments are protected during transit.

  • Interface with leaders across Programs to ensure critical paths and schedules are met though effective direct communication to understand requirements.

  • Determine priority of work and apply resources (people and equipment) to achieve results. Focus is on safe delivery as well as key performance indicator (KPI) for on-time delivery.

  • Assess need to utilize vendor transportation services for over-the-road transports.

  • Ensure the safe outcome of daily operations for team, equipment and cargo. Work environment includes power tools, MHE, tripping hazards, loading docks and trucks, and HazMat as cargo requiring packaging and shipment.

  • Manage operating expenses within budget, to include labor costs and raw material costs.

  • Develop and maintain DOT Special Permit Function Specific Training

  • Annually review/update LMS Hazardous Material Transportation Security Plan, provide training as required.

  • Annually renew Chemtrec contract for 24 hour emergency response phone support.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years demonstrated full spectrum leadership of a team within a larger organization or minimum 8 years of related work experience.

  • Expertise in Transportation Industry and knowledge of requirements/limitations of each mode.

  • Experience with performing within an operations budget.

  • DoD Secret Clearance (ability to obtain).

Desired Skills: * Knowledge of MILSPEC and ASTM packaging standards and materials. * Knowledge of CTPAT Programs. * Knowledge of International Shipping/Traffic requirements and Foreign Trade Zone management. * Familiar with Hazardous Material Regulations (49CFR, IATA/ICAO, AFMAN). * Knowledge of Freight Payment and Freight claim processes. * Familiar with SAP * Familiar with material handling equipment (forklift, BigJoe) and woodshop power tools (table saws, drills, nail guns) * Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives. * Effective written communication skills. * Ability to provide metric reports and complete special projects and assignments as needed. * Knowledge of bargaining units and/or previous experience with represented employee population. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Ability to prioritize a dynamic workload and reallocate resources to meet schedule demands.
