Trade Show and Events Manager (Remote):

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly organized, strategy driven and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Trade Show and Events Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing trade shows, exhibitions, and other events to promote KBR's Government Solutions, U.S. business. This role will find a variety of formats and ways to engage and promote KBR: from displaying an astronaut suit, to virtual reality demos, to booths about complex engineering solutions, to planning and executing engaging networking receptions -- this person should provide creativity, detailed planning and create amazing attendee and customer experiences. This position will closely align with business priorities, establish and maintain solid relationships with internal stakeholders, and ensure events reflect business needs. The Trade Show and Events Manager will also help track sponsorships, memberships, maintain a budget, and plan and execute engaging advertising campaigns. This role requires attention to detail, keeping an up-to-date calendar of events, along with after-action reports and surveys. We are seeking a team player who enjoys and thrives off collaboration and can manage a team with multiple moving parts and logistics. The Trade Show and Events Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the success of our marketing efforts and enhancing our brand image.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement comprehensive event strategies and plans for dozens of trade shows, exhibitions, conferences, and other events.

  • Maintain relationships with business and executive team to ensure visibility to planning, budget, and execute their business priorities.

  • Track and maintain a detailed calendar of events.

  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure all logistical aspects of events are properly managed, including venue selection, booth design, equipment rental, and shipping logistics.

  • Manage event budgets, negotiate contracts, and track expenses to ensure cost-effectiveness.

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop event marketing materials, including brochures, posters, videos, swag, and promotional items.

  • Coordinate with business leads to identify target audiences and develop strategies to attract potential customers at trade shows and events.

  • Oversee the setup and teardown of event booths, ensuring all materials and equipment are properly displayed and functioning.

  • Stay on top of industry trends, including promotional items, technology and booth designs.

  • Manage event registration and attendee tracking systems, ensuring accurate data collection and analysis.

  • Track and maintain sponsorships and memberships to various industry organizations.

  • Assist, plan and implement advertising campaigns.

  • Coordinate with external vendors and contractors to provide necessary services, such as catering, audiovisual equipment, and transportation.

  • Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of each event and identify areas for improvement.

  • Executive leadership communications

  • Oversee the trade show and events team members and department.

  • Other business and marketing duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, event planning, hospitality management or a related field with at least 9+ years of event planning experience.

  • Proven experience in event management, preferably in trade shows or exhibitions.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.

  • Creative problem-solving skills and ability to pivot when presented with challenge or obstacle.

  • Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in all aspects of event planning and execution.

  • Proficiency in event management software and tools.

  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as required.

  • Ability to multitask effectively and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

  • Government, national security, aerospace or defense contractor experience preferred.

  • Competent in MS Office Suite and other project management digital tools.

  • Experience in Teams, Planner and Smartsheet
