Tradeshelper/Part-Time (Automotive Technician Assistant)

Apply now and get trained while being paid as a Tradeshelper for the award-winning Chesapeake Central Fleet where you'll assist industry leading technicians in performing preventive maintenance and repairs to a diverse fleet of automotive vehicles, heavy trucks and construction equipment.

Other duties include:

• Assist technicians in routine maintenance such as building and changing tires, jump starting and replacing batteries, inspecting and replacing brakes.

• Perform tire repairs such as patching/plugging.

• Assist in the preventive maintenance, fluid and filter services, minor repairs, and maintenance documentation.

• May assist technician in vehicle modifications such as installing or removing special equipment.

• May be required to transport vehicles and equipment to and from vendors.

• Operates a wide variety of shop equipment, machinery and specialized tools.

• Performs shop or area maintenance such as general clean up.

• Prepares documentation for maintenance activities such as repairs made, parts used, costs, and other information.

• Performs other duties as assigned.
