Assess vehicles and/or equipment to accurately diagnose and repair issues.
Provide routine inspections of vehicles and/or equipment and inform supervisor of any issues.
Clearly communicate equipment issues, maintenance plans and work performed with supervisor.
Prepare quotes and work estimates as requested.
Repair or replace worn, defective, or broken parts for all state-owned vehicles and equipment.
Keep accurate record logs of inspections, test results, work performed, and parts used.
Maintain inventory and manage shop for parts, and supplies. Work through purchasing process to order supplies and parts as needed.
Ability to prioritize jobs while maintaining a safe and clean working environment.
Assist with any problems regarding all outdoor power equipment operation.
Ability to operate all vehicles and/or equipment such as side by sides, mowers, fork trucks, mechanic lifts, etc.
Observe high standards of safety and good housekeeping in the work area.
Adhere to all institutional work safety policies and written programs. Follow and adhere to all governing agencies rules and inspections maintaining a good compliance status.
Maintain and clean mechanics shop equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in safe and usable condition at all times.
Work with SDS sheets for chemicals used in work area
Maintain equipment during snow removal activities; as needed
Perform generator inspections and maintain logs. Coordinate with supervisor and assistant director of occupational safety.
Complete all other duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Education
Business, technical, or vocational school as might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond high school.
Required Licenses and/or Certifications
Certified in applicable skilled trade.

Business, technical, or vocational school as might normally be acquired through up to 18 months of education or training beyond high school.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience conducting routine service and vehicle maintenance
Sound problem solving skills
Demonstrated experience inspecting vehicles for faults and repairs
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Attention to detail
Time management
Manual dexterity
