Duties for this position include, but are not limited to:
Expertise in construction methods, repair techniques, inspection methods, and operations of the department's sewer collection and storm drain systems.
Program oversight of maintenance, rehabilitation, and work prioritization on gravity mains, storm drains, and accessories
Monitoring staff assignments within the workgroup to ensure efficient and uninterrupted operations
Serve as primary contact for emergency or planned repairs outside of regular business hours
Analyses of data to support operational, monthly, and annual reporting.
Effective staff management to include supervision of staff, annual appraisals, staffing requests, and recommendations on hiring and corrective actions.
Assist in development and management of work-group budgets.
Coordinate vehicle maintenance to minimize down-time and reactive maintenance.
High School Diploma, or G.E.D.
Eight years of related work experience, including three years of supervisory experience.
or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Valid driver's license in state of residency.
Must have certification as Georgia Wastewater Collection System Operator, Georgia Distribution System Operator, and NASSCO Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP), or must obtain these certifications within 12 months.
This position must be available 24/7 and respond quickly to emergencies.
