Trade ROI Manager

Newark, NJ

This role is responsible executing the customer investment strategy through the creation of tactical trade promotion optimization recommendations and strategic reassignment of trade funds that improve ROI for assigned channel/customer group. Delivering these efficiencies will come from the creation of and leveraging of insights that define the trade promotion narrative for assigned customer/channel and synthesis of insights internally to influence trade architecture improvements. Success in this role means all stakeholders understanding how they invest today and where they need to shift investments tomorrow in order to deliver better ROI for customers, consumers, and Mars Wrigley.

What are we looking for?

  • BA/BS in Finance, Economics, Marketing, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience

  • Strong technical skills (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI),

  • Proven ability to synthesize multiple data sources (e.g., internal TPM and P&L data, syndicated data)

  • 8+ years of business experience, with strong preference for multiple years of experience in FMCG or Retailer analytical role(s)

  • The ability to travel a minimum of 20% of the time

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Identify and evaluate promotion optimization opportunities, in partnership with Sales VPs and his / her teams of Sales Directors and CMs, to drive profitable sales and share growth across the U.S. for assigned channel and develop strategic sell-in stories to ensure insights are commercialized

  • Serve as the key stakeholder for developing best-in-class Trade Strategy tools and analytical approaches (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) that integrate multiple data sources to provide a full picture of the top and bottom line impacts of promotions for both Mars Wrigley and retailers. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to optimize functionality and effectiveness

  • Leverage a suite of tools, combined with analytical rigor at a channel and customer-specific level, create strategic channel annual promotional guidelines and guardrails to ensure growth-driving insights are commercialized throughout U.S. sales teams

  • Execute complex and comprehensive analyses to support the development of channel-level and customer-level promotional strategies that achieve sales, share, and profitability objectives and facilitate strategic conversations with internal Sales Directors and retailers (including customer reviews and top to top meetings) to evaluate tradeoffs and commercialize opportunities
