What we do:
The Trade Compliance Specialist will be responsible for moderately complex international trade compliance and analysis duties with the anticipation that they will lead in development of the department and grow and build the position to manage increasingly complex and strategically-focused work. They will be expected to contribute significantly in evaluating, analyzing and advising on trade data, coordinating inter-departmental functions and leading project teams, representing Supernal in significant matters with outside business and industry representatives, and with assisting the Head of the International Trade and other specialists in the department with analysis, research and solutions as warranted.
This position will report directly to the Head of the International Trade Department and will work closely with Senior Export Compliance Specialists. The Head of International Trade Compliance defines continuing areas of responsibility and will provide guidance on objectives, policy considerations, and resource issues. Candidate is expected to plan and execute tasks independently and to generate complete and technically sound work products and proposals.
What you can do:
Analyze international trade data; perform data analysis; determine root cause analysis and propose solutions
Evaluate and update guidance documents, export controls manual, technology control plans, and other policy and/or process documents to ensure compliance with current rules and regulations
Conduct audits and assessment to identify potential compliance issues and implement corrective actions
Regularly evaluate current and potential export controls matters/issues affecting the company and provide analysis for Head of the International Trade Compliance Department and Senior Compliance Specialists
Support export license compliance, ensuring Supernal entities follow the regulatory and license conditions placed on approved licenses
Review and ensure coordination to complete end user certificates, classification requests, IT access requests for non-US persons, and other export controls analysis
Engage with customs brokers and other persons to enable logistics of high value, critically important items
Provide general export compliance training, briefings, and lead all mandatory processes
Coordinate with vendors and other critical suppliers to support critically important acquisitions.
Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders
Maintain auditable records of all documents pertaining to import and export.
Handle and respond to restricted party screenings
Other export compliance related duties, where aligned with prior experience and/or as determined by the development of the role
May require up to 15% of domestic and international trave
Other duties as assigned
What you can contribute:
Bachelor's degree required
Engineering or technical background a plus but not required
3-7 years of relevant work experience
Experience working with aerospace and commercial technologies is an advantage.
Experience with developing tools to automate processes or use tools for data analysis including, but not limited to, Microsoft Power Automate and Python, is a significant advantage and will be weighted accordingly.

Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location. This position is also eligible for a bonus as part of total compensation.
The pay range for this position is:
$117,520—$168,168 USD
