Trade Compliance Analyst

The Custom Compliance Analyst is responsible Support Toro Company's business operations by executing the company's import and export compliance processes. Utilize analytics to tell and improve the story of Global Trade Compliance (GTC). Ensure the company is current with regulatory changes and train as needed. Embrace Lean to drive out waste and improve GTC processes.

Work Location:
This opportunity is based out of Bloomington, MN international headquarters. Candidates should prepare for a hybrid schedule, that includes 3-days on-site.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with The Toro Company, you will be responsible for:
Global Trade Compliance Activities: Analyze, research, assign Harmonized Tariff Schedule, Country of Origin and ECCN. Free Trade Agreement administration. Initiate, review and submit the Annual Cost Reconciliation with US Customs. Administer duty drawback program. Conduct Restricted Party List Screening. Perform internal compliance audits, resolve identified issues, and perform corrective actions. Request binding rulings from U.S. Customs authorities when necessary
Analytics: Prepare, research and distribute metrics through tools such as Power BI. Identify opportunities through the data and provide solutions. Expand the use of analytics within the GTC team.
Regulatory Updates and Training: Monitor regulatory updates, summarize, and share with impacted groups. Ensure procedures and processes are current based on changes. Educate and train internal customers and GTC team on importing and exporting requirements.
Process Improvement: Continue the journey of Lean to eliminate waste and continue to improve processes. All other duties and special projects as assigned.
What Do You Need?
To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
2+ years of tariff classification required.
Bachelor's degree preferred; five (5) plus years comparable experience in international trade, plus other qualifications will be considered. USMCA and other FTA qualification experience preferred. Knowledge of U.S. and other government regulatory agency requirements is preferred.
Licensed Customs Broker, or interest in becoming licensed in the future.
Experience working with mechanical and electrical products desired.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office. SAP experience preferred.
Exceptional attention to detail. Ability and skill with multitasking in a fast-paced and constantly changing regulatory environment. Proven ability to analyze situations and take effective and accurate actions. Ability to manage large workloads and excel at prioritizing and organizing tasks. Excellent follow-up and follow-through skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Experience working within ACE (Automated Customs Environment) is desired.
Experience working with duty drawback desired.

To be considered for this role, an individual should meet the following minimal requirements:
The position requires a high degree of communication and interaction with other areas of the company as well as customs brokers with the ability to ensure detailed compliance with applicable U.S. and international regulations and Toro's processes.
This position can have a long learning curve of twelve months plus.
Ability to regularly follow detailed processes and analysis is required.
Work is conducted in a typical office environment as it pertains to lighting, temperature and noise levels when working in an administrative or operations environment.
Travel expectation ~10%.
