In this role you'll get to work collaboratively with import and export brokers, ASSA ABLOY factories & stakeholders, support the standardization of process while driving compliant results.

We are seeking an individual who has excellent planning, organizing, problem solving, initiative and critical thinking skills. As an Analyst, you will handle a large amount of data from multiple sourcing locations.

You can work onsite at any one of the following locations and will report to the Senior Manager of Trade Compliance and Data Analytics:

New Haven or Berlin, CT

Phoenix, AZ

Somerset, PA

Salem, VA

What you will be doing

Risk Reduction and Savings:

  • Support relationships with customs brokers and conduct broker audits for import and export, and request and track Post Summary Corrections.

  • Reply to requests from customers, suppliers, brokers, Customs authorities.

  • Support ASSA ABLOY factories with day-to day trade compliance issues that are delaying shipments.

  • Support Trade Compliance Specialist

  • Classification with reviewing and updating harmonized tariff (HTS) codes for all products.
  • Support Trade Compliance Specialist
  • Free Trade Agreements in ensuring annual collection of Country-of-Origin information from suppliers and certificate of origin.
  • Support the tracking and declaring of Assists or Value Reconciliation to customs authorities.

  • Apply knowledge of Customs regulations and participating government agency requirements across Mexico, Canada, and the U.S. to a variety of products.

  • Maintain a robust record retention program for import records.

  • Support the Duty Drawback program.

  • Have a good working knowledge of Free Trade Agreements such as USMCA and KORUS.

  • Understand and track changes to China Section 301 tariffs and other duty programs.

  • Keep current with antidumping and countervailing duty investigations and orders that can affect ASSA ABLOY products and work with teams to determine potential product changes to avoid duties.

  • Leverage cross-functional relationships to gain information to enable quality decision making.

Automation and Standardization:

  • Assist with rolling out a cloud-based trade compliance software that will assist with annual supplier solicitation, country of origin determination, free trade agreement certificates, and export documentation.

  • Become a super-user of the trade compliance software platform.

  • Create and conduct training on trade compliance topics.

  • Create localized Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions for ASSA ABLOY factories based on the company-wide Trade Compliance Manual.

  • Support projects for master data cleanup and data governance.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in International Affairs/Trade, International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or another related field is required.

  • Minimum of 2+ years Trade Compliance experience.

  • Hands-on experience in manipulating data using MS Excel- v-lookups and Pivot Tables.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.

  • Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the team.

  • Travel up to 15% to visit sister-company sites mostly in North America and meet with local staff who support trade compliance activities.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of the Mexico IMMEX and Maquiladora programs a plus.
