TRACTOR TRAILER TECHNICIAN

St Louis Composting, producer of STA-Certified Compost, Mulch Products and Soil Blends, is seeking a safety conscious Tractor Trailer Technician to join our growing team at our site in Belleville, IL. The Tractor Trailer Technician will collaborate with other repair team members to ensure a vehicle is safely and efficiently operating to the driver's needs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs maintenance on tractor trailers and completes DOT inspections.

• Follows preventative maintenance procedures as established by company standards.

• Orders parts, communicates status and annotates corrective actions.

• Inspect, repair and replace worn or defective air brake, suspension and lighting systems.

• Replace, repair or fabricate hydraulic lines and fittings for live floor trailers.

• Comfortable working in a sometimes fast paced environment while maintaining flexibility.

• Ensures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures. using the appropriate tools and equipment for the task.

• Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

• Must present a neat and professional appearance.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Possesses a valid US driver's license and has their own tools (Specialty tools provided).

• Perform DOT inspections and have at least 1 years of hands-on experience with tractor trailers.

• 2 years of experience with stick welding, wire welding and fabrication.

• Air brakes and suspension experience.

• Able to lift 50lbs and stand for long periods of time.

• Experience with live floor trailers and hydraulics is a plus.
