About the Opportunity
This is an open position with Met-Ed, a subsidiary of FirstEnergy Corp. [ME]
Under general supervision or direction and as assigned:
1.Operates all Company vehicles for the primary purpose fo transporting materials and supplies interstate and intrastate.
2.Loads and unloads vehicles utilizing equipment as required.
3.Responsible for maintaining all paperwork associated with this position.
4.Performs other related and lesser skilled work as required.
5.Directing and training assigned employees.
Experience, Education and Special Information Required:
1.Must possess a valid Class "A" Commerical Driver's License and pass a tractor trailer driving and load securement skills demonstration as prescribed by the company.
2.Must be able to perform semi-routine operations of considerable complexity and variety where standard methods of procedure are available.
3.Must be at least a high school graduate or possess the GED equivalency.
4.Must be familiar with the Company's Safety Rules, Methods of Resuscitation and able to render practical First Aid.
1.Normal health, physique and sensory functions, including color perception, near/distant visual acuity and hearing as required to perform the job duties.
2.Strength and dexterity adequate to safely perform all the duties of this classification. Must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
1.Must be able to meet public in pleasant, tactful manner.
2.Must be especially neat and orderly in work.
3.Must have established reputation for being strictly honest in the custody of money or property.
4.Must have established reputation for being trustworthy when in possession of confidential information.
5.Must be willing to work extra and/or irregular hours as required.
6.Must be particularly alert in observing hazards and avoiding accidents.
7.Must be capable of making and holding to decisions with fairness.
8.Must be able to receive and transmit orders and instructions in such a manner as to inspire respect and confidence of both superiors and subordinates.
9.Must be able to develop and plan work of limited scope.
10. Ability to pass physical ability test to demonstrate two techniques of lifting as prescribed the the company.
