Position Overview:
As a Trailer Body Technician you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the bodies of tractor trailers. You will be responsible for conducting assessments of trailer body damage. By performing these skilled maintenance tasks you are assisting in keeping vehicles in optimal condition and contributing to the efficiency and reliability of our fleet.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performing thorough inspections of trailer bodies to assess their overall condition, safety compliance and functionality
Executing a range of body repairs such as but not limited to welding, panel replacement, dent removal, refinishing and total roof replacements
Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery to complete repairs effectively and efficiently
Documenting any additional issues or recommendations for preventative maintenance to improve the overall condition and performance of tractor-trailer bodies
Collaborating with other technicians, mechanics, and professionals to troubleshoot complex issues and deliver high-quality repairs
Communicating effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and customers to provide updates on repair progress and address any concerns or questions
Participating in quality assurance programs for consistent adherence to industry safety standards
Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe working environment in the fleet department
Flexibility to work various or additional shifts, as needed including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Perform other duties as assigned by leadership

Experience:
Preferred: One (1) years technical experience
Preferred: Certification in welding or other relevant skill sets regarding body work
Valid Driver's License required
Skills:
Safety Culture: Maintain and drive safety policies; driving for accountability of safe practices throughout shift
Physical abilities: May be required to lift up to 80-85lbs. Standing, bending, lifting and twisting for up to 90% of your shift; frequently lifting product from various heights including floor level to over your head; Ability to stand or walk at least 10 8 hours daily; working in various temperature environments; the ability to operate required equipment - getting on and off equipment throughout shift; using hand tools and job specific equipment
Strong communication Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers and leaders on a daily basis
Organizational Skills: Working timely manner; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Working in a team based environment: Working independently and as a team player to ensure our customers are receiving orders timely and with the highest quality
Quality: Maintain integrity and high standards of product handling from all perspectives
