Overview JOB SUMMARY The Track Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of an assigned territory that includes all aspects of track inspections and routine track maintenance on shared freight/passenger infrastructure while m,aintaining a focus on safe operations. Successful candidate must possess the skills to qualify for the maintenance and inspections of track in compliance with the FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart G.

Responsibilities DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES: Perform track inspections. Create, implement, and manage strategic work plans.

Manage all track material, PPE and all other resources required to efficiently maintain assigned territory. Manage engineering employees as outlined in FEC's operating plan. Supervise and manage the activities of MOW gangs, track inspectors, and test cars.

Maintain compliance with safe work procedures, FRA guidelines, and FEC policies and procedures. Lead people with clear direction and goals while providing coaching and guidance to employees through regular monitoring of performance. Apply collective bargaining agreements and policies while carrying out duties, including managing and coaching employees, conducting investigations, recommending corrective action, and responding to grievances.

Manage budgets and workforce productivity. Clear communication of track condition, daily production, and information to senior management. Respond to unexpected or emergency situations.

Participate in activities related to derailments and disruptions in service, while working with transportation and mechanical to determine cause and future prevention. Other duties or tasks as assigned by manager. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid driver's license. High School diploma or equivalent. At least 2 years of responsible supervisory experience in railroad track inspection and maintenance in track Class 4 or higher.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: At least 5 years of responsible supervisory experience in railroad track inspection and maintenance in track Class 4 or higher. FRA Track Safety Standards Part 213 Subpart A to F and G.

Experience managing budgets. Experience supervising a unionized workforce. Experience interpretating collective bargaining agreements.

Training and/or certification in Railroad Operating Practices. KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: Adapts rapidly to changing circumstances and manages stressful situations.

Proven leadership skills building a strong team in a unionized workforce. Knowledge of railroad construction materials. Ability to handle multiple projects and maintenance activities simultaneously Result-focused; gives clear directions and prioritizes daily tasks Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings and specifications.

Strong verbal and written communication skills Understand and apply safety standards, policies, and procedures Knowledge of railroad operations and physical characteristics Must be able to collaborate with others to accomplish organizational goals, identify and resolve problems. Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). WORKING CONDITIONS: Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard workweek) Combination of office work and working outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions Successfully completion of a background check, physical and drug screen prior to start date Enforce safe work procedures and policies Respond to unexpected or emergency situations Lift up to 80lbs 10% travel required
