Job Summary

With a focus on operational excellence and job quality, the primary function of the Tracer Specialist is to work directly with the Operator and Service company during frac operations to ensure proper placement of tracer materials while maintaining the use of ALARA during RAM and comply with all DOT/HAZMAT/HSE regulations.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Work directly with field personnel on well sites

  • Collaborate with sales personnel to verify job is scheduled according to plan and report issues

  • Travel as required to various job sites in state and out

  • Mixes tracer materials and injects into a "frac" line going into the well

  • Provides customers with technical product support relating specifically to tracer services

  • Upon completion of tracer operations, utilizes survey instruments to survey the well site to ensure that no materials residue remains at the site

  • Accurately completes all required reports and forwards to appropriate personnel for execution after the job

  • Responsible for complying with all daily procedures when performing operations involving the use of material and equipment

  • Responsible for all assigned material and equipment

  • Maintains all service equipment and rental tools

  • Delivers products to customers as needed

  • Makes provisions to minimize accidents in the workplace

  • Responsible for complying with all HSE policies, procedures, generally accepted practices of NCS, customer and government regulations

  • Support and uphold HS&E policies and procedures of NCS and the customer

  • Align individual goals with NCS corporate goals, while adhering to the NCS Promise

  • Participate in your Personal Development for Success (PDS)

  • Other duties, relevant to the position, shall be assigned as required

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

  • Valid Driver's License

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Certification in Radiation, Well Logging or Subsurface Tracer Operations preferred

  • Oil and gas experience preferred in Completions or Drilling

  • Travel and work weekends

  • ON CALL 24/7

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds.

  • Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral vision and depth perception with the ability to adjust focus

  • Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials 25 pounds, frequently 50 pounds and occasionally 100 pounds

  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time

  • Working for extended periods

  • Exposure to various outdoor environment weather conditions including but not limited to sun, heat, wind, cold, rain, etc. in which the proper safety and clothing will be provided

Equipment Operation

  • Inspects forklift before use and reports any defects that would render it unsafe and reports to the Safety and Compliance Officer

  • Operates motor vehicles to transport materials according to all federal, state, and local regulations

  • Ensures proper care, use and maintenance of company vehicle in which employee has been assigned by keeping vehicle clean and reporting all malfunctions to Operations Manager and maintaining safe driving habits by abiding by all laws

Additional Information

  • Employment Classification: Full time

  • Work schedule: Hours per week may vary dependent on business needs

  • Travel: 90% of travel includes long drive times and frequent overnight stays

  • Special Equipment: Cellphone eligible

  • Bonus: Eligible

  • Criminal background check required for all positions

  • Safety sensitive positions will require additional pre-employment testing

Work Schedule

  • All Tracer personnel will be assigned to a rotational team that will work 20 consecutive days on followed by 5 days off.

  • Employees are guaranteed to be paid a minimum of 40 hours each week whether on or off, however, hours paid during days off are not considered hours worked for purposes of calculating overtime.

  • All employees will be paid for hours actually worked in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.
