Momentum is growing in the Town of Cowen, WV. The Town's municipal government has several exciting projects underway that are supported by this VISTA opportunity. Community engagement, planning and improvement, and volunteerism are key strategies for the exciting improvements coming to Cowen to make it attractive to locals and guests passing through. These projects serve larger economic revitalization goals for communities like Cowen in the Mon Forrest Towns region. Some projects this VISTA opportunity will support include the local park, the B&O pond's outdoor picnic, fishing and walking facilities, tennis, pickleball and basketball courts, and bike trails. Member Duties : During their year of service, some activities that the member may accomplish will include: - Collaborating with the community to develop and pitch new projects/initiatives for community growth

• Research and apply for grants to support community engagement initiatives such as the parks development projects

• Develop a resource bank of community resources that are easily accessible by all residents of Cowen

• Build partnerships with service providers to help bring resources into Cowen

• Lead the development of fundraising for projects

• Develop a community engagement forum to workshop ideas for new projects

• Engage in regular professional development opportunities
