We are looking for a Sr. Internal and External Communications Manager to join an exciting new pilot program called the Flexible Resource Pool, where you will rotate to various teams for short term assignments covering vacancies, such as leaves of absence. This allows you to get to know multiple teams, audiences, and lines of business in each year and make immediate impact in the short term. We are seeking experienced hires for this program who can hit the ground running, and with each new assignment add even more value with your learnings from the previous.


  • Drive communications strategies and execute programs that support and promote the company's areas of focus and align with business objectives

  • Create communications deliverables that support the strategic goals of each program

  • Develop a variety of communications materials, including blog posts, messaging documents, Q&As, speeches and presentations

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while ensuring best-in-class delivery and execution

  • Provide strategic communications counsel to internal clients at all levels, managing expectations and educating as necessary

  • Work with extended communications teams from around the world, as well as cross-functionally with all areas of the company

  • Act as a company spokesperson

  • Ability to travel to other LinkedIn offices such as Sunnyvale, Mountain View and San Francisco based on assignments.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in communications, business or related field, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of external communications experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working directly with media of all levels

  • Experience managing or influencing teams to drive effective communications programs to increase awareness and manage reputation in line with business objectives

  • Experience managing communications and awareness programs within the marketing/advertising and talent acquisitions industries

  • Deep internal communications expertise, and change communications experience

  • 8+ years of internal and external communications experience

  • Experience developing and driving social media campaigns

  • Experience working with global, multi-national companies

  • Agency and international/regional business experience

  • Strong understanding of the business and regulatory environments of the markets in the region

  • Excellent communication, writing, interpersonal and people management skills

  • Ability to distance-manage people in other countries and from different cultures, often managing multiple projects simultaneously

  • Ability to execute and influence at all levels

  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks and work within deadlines with little supervision

  • Ability to create the strategy and get deeply involved in building deliverables and change plans

  • Ability to develop and drive multiple complex project plans simultaneously

  • Ability to prioritize and move fast, and thrive in a highly collaborative environment

  • Cross-functional experience across internal and external communications

  • Experience working across multiple industries

  • Experience in both B2B and B2C communications

  • Ability to ramp quickly and make an impact in short time spans

  • Thrives off of and is comfortable with change

This role will be based in San Francisco or Sunnyvale depending on which location the applicant chosen for the role is currently residing.

The team's mission is to bring Facebook's community-driven mission to life through proactive storytelling, programs and partnerships. In this role, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to create and support proactive public relations campaigns, product launches as well as programs around Facebook's mission to build community and its core products. The person will focus on consumer outlets, and must have very strong relationships with the press.
