POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for initial processing of raw materials to produce purees for fresh filling of individual serving packages along with initial and final processing of raw materials to produce purees for bulk Aseptic filling.

In alignment with Act 593(B) this position is considered safety sensitive as this employee prepares recipes and mixtures for final product and ensures products are consistent with formula/recipes. In addition, this position operates, maintains and monitors machinery.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Originate, plan, adapt, and organize methods to accomplish work in the entire tote filling operation from initial finishing to initial storage of totes. Set-up varied processing skids for recipe specific parameters and product flowrates. Assemble, operate, maintain, and monitor equipment during processing. Troubleshoot failures and/or alarms.

  • Associate will be expected to operate all equipment in area, including but not limited to: tanks, processing skids, various finishers, steam screw, and tote filler.

  • Associate will be expected to perform lift-truck operating duties

  • Collaborate with supervisor and fellow associates to run production, troubleshoot, problem solve and determine ideas for continuous improvement.

  • Additional duties as assigned by department supervisor.

  • Must complete all documentation as required.

  • Employee will perform quality checks according to the QMS

  • Consume materials and declare production as well as complete all area setups and checks.

  • Order/return materials for production including staging materials to location current inventory system.

Associate will be called upon to perform varied clean-up duties. These may include, but are not limited to: CIP, COP, general housekeeping, assembly and disassembly of equipment, checking and connecting line paths, line flushing or rinsing, and returning of unused ingredients.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • Minimum High school diploma or GED required.

  • Must be able to understand written English, recipes, written instructions, and perform basic math skills.

  • Associate will be required to document that he/she is qualified to perform the functions of position.

  • Employee must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting (up to 70 lbs).

EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Minimum 6 months relevant work experience

  • Preferred: 3 years' experience in food manufacturing or other manufacturing setting

In alignment with Act 593(B) this position is considered safety sensitive as this employee performs installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of all measuring instruments and devices. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: * Must actively participate in pre-shift meeting, receive PM's and work orders and get tools ready for the shift. * Must maintain operations by answering calls on equipment, doing PM's and work orders, work on breakdowns, make list for parts needed and conduct equipment calibrations. Requires ability to work independently toward general results. Must originate, plan, adapt, invent and contrive to accomplish tasks. Work requires close attention to detail and work pace is generally well above normal with frequent problems keeping up with the work pace. Work also requires considerable average to great physical exertion or effort. * Must complete all paperwork/checks as necessary including entering data in Calibration Manager Program, creating work orders, creating breakdown work orders, checking tasks, entering time and completing work orders in SAP. * Employee must maintain housekeeping in his/her area, sweeping area, cleaning tools and shop equipment as needed. * Must communicate and properly hand off "breakdown" work to on-coming shift, enter time in SAP and put tools away. * Required to assist calibration technicians and other duties as assigned by supervisor REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL: In addition to high school graduation, needs specialized training such as apprenticeship in trade or technical courses. Additional training beyond high school graduation is required; state electrical license preferred.
