Job Summary

The Total Spine Care Network (TSCN) POD Physician Chiropractor will provide patient consultations and clinical education, on an individual basis and in large group seminar settings, or potential patients. The physicians that support these initiatives by designated POD (collection of practices), provide MRI/CT review, write orders for MRI's and other diagnostic tests as needed, and serve as a general resource for patient education and information related to spinal problems including an appropriate care pathway.

Essential Functions - Duties & Responsibilities

  • Effectively perform daily patient consultations to determine the best care pathway for the patient to reach maximum functional improvement.

  • Perform Triage visits as needed to order imaging (MRI, X-Ray, CT etc.) in order to perform consultations

  • Chart review of active patients to update appropriate care plan as needed

  • Knowledge and competence in interpretation of radiographic, MRI & CT imaging (both films and written reports) of the spine.

  • Develop competence in ordering appropriate imaging modalities as needed (ie. when to order imaging with/without contrast)

  • Help determine if more conservative management should be sought or referred (Medical pain management/intervention, physical therapy, chiropractic care etc.) prior to recommending surgical intervention during consultations.

  • Develop an understanding when a patient is NOT a candidate for minimally invasive surgery and may need more extensive or emergent intervention (ie. Red Flags - possible cancer, infection, acute trauma/cauda equina etc.)

  • Develop knowledge in the differences between open vs. minimally invasive spine surgery procedures in the neck and back, as well as the differences between in-patient and out-patient spine surgery.

  • The TSCN POD Physician functions as a clinical educator as well, by educating patients in a clear, understandable manner, so they can make an educated and sound decision about their own heath.

  • Ensure that medical records for Triage and Consultation visits are appropriately documented and signed as required

  • Deliver patient education seminars which may include weekends and/or travel to perform those seminars as well as "mini" consultations with attendees before and/or after seminars as needed.

  • Collaborate with other departments as needed in reading/interpretation of radiology reports, manuscript writing, clinical research, data collection and literature review.

  • Assist day-to-day clinic duties as needed provided those duties are within the scope of the physician practicing in that state

  • Treatment (ie. spinal manipulation) will NOT be provided to prospective patients, or partner medical or support staff, by the TSCN POD Physician- Chiropractor

  • Up to 80% travel required.

  • Must have reliable transportation.

  • Participate in local and company-wide initiatives aimed at maintaining and improving patient care, interprofessional relationships, communication, workplace safety, etc.

  • Conduct patient consultations as part of Ambulatory Surgery Center, when required for patient load.

  • Train with and masterfully deliver educational material for Total Spine Care Network Onboarding / Accredidation events, when appropriate.

  • Up to 80% travel required.

Qualifications & Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree, Doctorate Degree in Chiropractic Medicine.

Experienced in reading MRIs and CTs; and with narratives.

Doctorate of Chiropractic Medicine. Successful completion of NBCE parts I, II, II and IV.

  • Must have active license for Pennsylvania

  • Current License in Good Standing without any open / pending licensing board complaints.

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Marketing and / or sales experience is a plus.
