Reporting to the Vice President and CHRO, the Total Rewards Director provides strategic leadership over all compensation and benefits programming to include HRIS, defined contribution plans, a defined benefit plan, and full-scope health & welfare benefits in support of the GBMC Healthcare System mission. This leader manages the planning and administration of all compensation and benefits programs and HRIS function. Administers health, dental, life, disability insurances, pension and related programs. Participates in the analysis of all compensation and benefits programs, and the development and implementation of new or enhanced programs. Supervises compensation, benefits and HRIS staff, and ensures that customer service delivery meets internal customer expectations.
Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent education/experience; Master's Degree, preferred
Experience
Twelve + years related progressively responsible HR or Finance experience with at least five years of supervisory experience

Ensures Compensation and benefits programs are in compliance with GBMC Healthcare System policies, and state and federal laws.
Prepares and manage annual budget for compensation, benefits, and HRIS team.
Mathematical and statistical ability to perform what-if analyses and to estimate cost of programs.
Advanced skills in Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite applications; experience leading HRIS system projects, preferably with Workday and/or Kronos.
Interpersonal and oral communication skills to be able to provide advice and counsel to management, to negotiate with insurance and pension vendors and similar providers.
Analytical ability to understand the business needs of the different organizational units within the Medical Center and to develop and implement various compensation and benefits programs as well as varied human resource information systems applications to meet the diverse needs of the departments and/or their employees.
Organizational ability to adapt to and manage multiple priorities and programs within a tight timeframe.
Licensures, Certifications

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Oversees resolution of employee and benefits problems and manages staff to ensure timely and appropriate resolution.
Supervises daily administration of the health, dental, life and disability insurances, COBRA administration, pension, supplemental retirement, and related programs, and ensures new hires and newly benefit eligible employees are educated and enrolled in benefits plans according to established entry rules.
Participates in annual pension audit and valuation; manages employee annual pension statement communication, and oversees resolution of problems.
Participates in the analysis of benefit programs by researching local and regional trends in benefit coverage and employee demographics. Participates in the implementation of benefit program changes or enhancements.
Manages benefits communication for organization and ensures that accurate, up-to-date forms, materials, and program descriptions are available in print and electronic media formats.
Manages annual open enrollment and conducts education sessions throughout the year to ensure that employees are educated and understand their benefits package
Manages HRIS and ensures employee database is maintained in accordance with established external laws and regulations and internal practice and procedure.
HRIS Management
Oversees and assists in organizing management workflow utilizing a proactive approach to problem solving within a client/server environment. Work closely and effectively with all levels of management to satisfy project/productivity requirements.
Review and evaluates information systems workflows for their value and the integration of such workflows with other departments
Acts as HRIS project lead to provide timely and effective implementation
Oversees and assists in building and managing interfaces between the HRIS system and vendors. Participate in design, and implement software, reporting functionality, systems deployment for recruitment, performance management, benefits and employee health.
Oversees and participates in the development of Total Rewards training materials, and in providing training to staff
Participants in short and long-range departmental information technology planning for the HR department. Oversees administrative processes and techniques, i.e. workflow, control, scheduling
Serves as liaison between department and other departments relating to any pilot programs involving technical issues
