In a collaborative and results oriented team environment, the Total Rewards Coordinator must be a superstar at implementing and administering group benefit/compensation programs, ensuring the College is in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role is extremely important as it will be an integral partner in continuing to evolve a total rewards strategy that enhances employee engagement. Additionally, this position works directly with the Human Resources Director in developing, implementing and evaluating HR policies, programs, functions, and activities, with a focus that is strategic and innovative. Highlights of responsibilities include:

  • Passionate support for the mission and vision of Concordia College.

  • Engaged coordination and administration of employee salary and benefit programs.

  • Providing comprehensive benefit information and counseling to employees and supervisors to support informed decision making.

  • Prepare and execute benefit documentation such as original and amended plan texts, benefit agreements and insurance policies.

  • Manage and administer FMLA and other leave programs.

  • Serves as Wellness Team co-leader and Retirement Plan Oversight Committee member.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field, plus three years related experience or equivalent education and experience.

  • Passionate about people and proven success in providing "best-in-class" service to constituents.

  • Savvy technological skills to include Microsoft Office Suite and related programs.

  • Ability to learn and apply technology in a quick manner, to streamline routine work and enhance the value of the end user experience.

  • Avid seeker of knowledge and information.

  • Innovative.

  • Ability to communicate in writing, one-on-one or in group settings in a manner that instills trust and confidence.

Preferred Qualifications

PHR; SPHR; SHRM-PC; or SHRM-SPC.

Employee Benefits Specialist certification or similar certification.

Experience with Banner.

Processes authorization requests according to company/department policy and within the established standards for turnaround. Verifies member eligibility and health plan benefits through the use of the health plan guidelines. Verifies specific procedures and diagnoses requested and codes them appropriately based upon CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS codes. Verifies all information in QNXT and the Utilization Management workflow is correct and makes changes/updates as necessary. Answers all authorization inquiries in a professional and positive manner ensuring that all information given is accurate. Receives calls from providers or places calls to providers for additional information on authorization requests. Place calls to Members regarding authorization outcome. Composes basic letters, faxes, and emails which are sent to various providers as it relates to authorizations. Works collaboratively with internal departments to obtain information or documentation required to accurately process authorizations. Qualifications What We're Looking For * General knowledge of CPT and ICD9/ICD10 and HCPCS codes as it relates to the processing of medical billing and/or authorizations. * Familiar with medical terminology as it relates to IPA's, PPO's and HMO's. * Ability to interpret and communicate complex contract or benefit language. * General knowledge of QNXT preferred. * Strong problem-solving abilities. Ability to identify issues and problems within administrative processes and other relevant areas. * Must be attentive to detail, accurate, thorough, and persistent in following through to completion of all activities, demonstrating initiative for completing work assignments. * Excellent communication skills; able to read, write, and speak articulately, using established channels of communication and reporting relationships within the organization. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of internal/external staff, management, members, physicians/physician office staff. * General knowledge of Microsoft Office applications; Excel, Word; proficient in the use of Outlook. * Thorough knowledge of generally accepted professional office procedures and processes. * Ability to use the following general office equipment correctly and safely: desktop computer for data entry and typing, copy machine, scanner, facsimile machine, and telephone equipment. * Ability to create professional documents using proper grammar and punctuation. * Ability to handle various situations in a professional manner, demonstrating excellent customer service at all times and ability to adapt to change. * Ability to continually re-prioritize to meet the needs of internal and external customers throughout the workday. * Willingness to work as part of a team, working collaboratively with others to achieve goals, solve problems, and meet established organizational objectives. * Ability to be reliable in attendance and timeliness to work schedules. * Ability to adhere to dress code, good grooming, and personal hygiene habits. * Ability to maintain knowledge of and conform to company policies and procedures. * Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times. Minimum Required Qualifications * Three (3) or more years working in a health care or other related business environment working in authorizations, medical assisting and/or medical billing services required. Experience working in a managed care environment preferred. * Completion of vocational school program in medical assisting, medical front office, or medical billing and coding preferred. * High school diploma or equivalent required. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Position requires ability to sit for extended periods of time while working on computer, talking on the phone and performing most work duties. Must be able to use hands and fingers to enter data into computer, dial telephone, grasp files and reports. Must be able to lift and carry up to 5 pounds to transport files, reports and office supplies. Must be able to talk and hear to converse in person and on the telephone. Requires close up vision to read and work on computer, ability to adjust focus when changing tasks and peripheral vision while ambulating around the building.
