The Total Gas Management Technician/Back up driver will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Customer's Supply Chain Solutions Model to include packaged gas deliveries and management programs, establishing safe handling practices, efficient order processing & invoicing, initiating & executing cost reduction programs, reporting and day-to-day customer interface at the customer sites.

You will be the first line Airgas representative with the customer for all packaged gases, welding hardgoods and safety supplies related issues. This position will be responsible for efficiently managing customers' product needs in a way to remain ahead of usage and avoiding emergencies.

Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology, such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology and GPS navigation.

In particular, you will:

  • Clean and organize customer storage location(s)

  • Manage branch cylinder operation through SOP

  • Order all product as needed and adjust min/max inventory levels as necessary

  • Provide customer Technical Support for gas and gas delivery equipment

  • Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.

  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.

All new CDL Driver Hires must register for the Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse and allow Airgas consent to review their Clearinghouse record.

Are you a MATCH?

  • Valid NM Class A or B CDL with Valid Medical Examiner's Card, Hazmat & Airbrake Certifications.

  • Must have one (1) year of prior Class A or B professional driving experience within the last five (5) years and a clean driving record to include no more than two (2) convictions, OR two (2) at-fault accidents in the last three years; OR no more than a combination of one (1) conviction and one (1) at-fault accident in the last three years.

  • In lieu of experience, may consider accepting a diploma from an accredited driving school and a minimum of one (1) year of prior driving experience within the last five (5) years.

  • Must be at least 21 years or older

  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.

  • Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs., and occasionally lift 76 to greater than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment.

  • Must be able to drive hazardous cargo for up to 8 hours; frequent bending is also required.

  • Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines and have a high attention to detail.

  • Prior experience in the gas, welding and safety supply industry preferred.

  • Intermediate PC knowledge to include familiarity with Microsoft Office platform and onboard computers/telematics preferred.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • Ability to clearly and effectively speak to customers and employees as well as legibly write.

  • Ability to perform math functions and analysis as needed by the position.

  • Ability to participate and maintain Customer's safety credentials to be able to enter the assigned sites.
