NOTE: This position begins the 2024-2025 school year. Position includes 10 additional days added to base contract. This position is strictly contingent on sufficient funding.

SALARY & BENEFITS: Salary placement based on education and verified contracted teaching experience accepted $56,193.88 - $86,274.86 (10 additional days included). Employer-paid retirement, health and life insurance, sick leave benefits and personal leave.

Must possess a Nevada license endorsed for the specific subject(s) and to perform other educational functions at the level and in the field for which he/she is to be employed, issued in accordance with law and in full force at the time the services are rendered. General Job Description:

Under the general direction of the Director of Equity in Curriculum and Instruction, the curriculum and assessment coordinator works collaboratively with a high-performing team and serves as a CCSD curriculum expert supporting the Nevada Academic Content Standards (NVACS), research-based instructional strategies, and best-practice assessment design. In order to meet the expectations associated with the position, the coordinator must provide professional support to individual classroom teachers and site leaders through coaching and targeted professional development. In addition, the curriculum and assessment coordinator will facilitate the development of a guaranteed and viable curriculum, instruction, and assessment aligned with CCSD mission and goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (This list of Essential Duties and Responsibilities is not exhaustive and may be supplemented.):

  • Facilitate adoption of new curriculum materials when appropriate.

  • Support teachers in the integration of materials to best meet the needs of the students.

  • Manage curriculum and assessment documents in a shared electronic location and support teacher access to, understanding of, and implementation of established curriculum.

  • Observe classrooms, gather data, and effectively coach around the attributes of effective instruction.

  • Using best practices, facilitate professional learning on topics related to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

  • Follow district guidelines in implementing curriculum and assessment projects to include working with administrators, department chairs, teachers, and paraprofessionals.

  • Collaborate with Educational Services coordinator team to support district mission and goals as they pertain to curriculum, instruction, and assessment.

  • Facilitate a variety of professional learning opportunities designed to increase the knowledge of the NVACS and research-based instructional and assessment practices.

  • Support teachers in their learning and application of new knowledge and instructional practices in relation to NVACS and the content areas.

  • Understand and facilitate community of practice (CoP) work; observe, gather data, and coach individuals and teacher teams on CoP processes.

  • Facilitate professional learning and coach educators on best practices designed to meet the needs of special populations including IEP, EL, and GATE subgroups.

  • Support the integration of curriculum, instructional practices, and assessment with the MTSS model.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

A combination of training, education and experience which demonstrates an ability to perform the duties of the position: A combination of education and experience in a relevant field and a bachelor's degree from an accredited university. Experience in the field of education preferred.

Licenses or Certificates Required:

Possession of a valid Nevada Teaching License, Computer Science, Fine Arts, or Music endorsement preferred, TESL endorsement preferred, a valid drivers' license issued by the state of residence, and an original Social Security Card. Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
