The successful candidate will develops, execute, maintain and schedule the tooling shop activities to achieve internal customer shipping dates and assures the meeting of operational goals in accordance with the business objectives. Also is responsible to deploy the new Dies projects according the business needs.
Under moderate supervision of the Tooling Shop supervisor or manager, this position uses knowledge about machining & tooling, capacity constraints and best practices in performing planning activities. Identifying the optimal suppliers for components and services, and ensuring timely processing of all data in SAP.
The Tooling Shop Planner provides detailed schedules for components and finished goods for the tooling shop team and keep tracking on the jobs that are running in the shop.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
Coordinate and consolidate material and service demands, enter demands into SAP, and process demands through internal production orders or external purchase requisitions
Communicate forecasted material arrival and service completion dates to project managers
Resolve capacity constraints following project prioritization set by leadership
Schedule and facilitate meetings as required to resolve incoming quality issues, internal resource constraints, and time-critical repair or build operations
Plans, schedules and monitors inbound movement of materials from suppliers.
Determines material requirements and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production and engineering.
Develops specifications for new contract orders
Assist in the documentation of standard work training guides and department quality standards

Completes work with a limited degree of supervision.
Lead the creation of Tool & Die planning methodology and sustainability in conjunction with the area Leadership;
Implement best practices to achieve targets that will enable the company to meet/exceed customer service goals. The key focus reduce the lead-time to produce spare parts or delivery a Die from Design to Release.
Support policy deployment activities and efforts on lean journey; participate in Kaizen events
High school diploma or GED required, bachelor's degree preferred;
Technical Trades Training (preferred) (Machining Parts);
4-year degree from an accredited program (preferred) (Business, Science, or related field) or very solid equivalent work experience with strong references;
Microsoft Office Suite including advanced level in Excel;
Project Management knowledge (should be a plus);
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1-3 years of planning or related experience in supply chain methodologies (purchasing, financial analysis, inventory data entry and planning preferred)
Experience working with a Tooling Shop or similar technical team required (Tooling Shop or similar technical team will be a plus)
Desire a minimum of 5 years work experience.
Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional and quality manner

Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms
Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with a wide variety of contacts

Understand bill of materials structures and inventory control methodology

Experience tracking component costs, purchase requisitions and inventory maintenance
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and data management software (SAP preferred)
