Tooling Engineer

Job Description I am recruiting for a well known Manufacturing Company in need of a qualified Tooling Engineer . The company is well-established and has a great company culture leading to an excellent retention rate. Job Summary:

The Tooling Engineer works closely with Product Engineering to design product tooling that will produce product to standard cost. The Tooling Engineer also works closely with tool room and maintenance personnel to assure that the tool designs are able to be produced in house with minimal labor. Duties and Responsibilities Design roll tools, winding tools and supporting tooling components for new products and/or existing product improvements.

Analyze existing tooling designs and identify improvements that can be made to positively impact production standards and tool life. Create clear 2D prints of tooling and machinery components that can be made using standard processes (turning, milling, grinding, etc.) Create 3D CAD assemblies to develop design criteria and mathematical position of tooling. Lead new tooling trials Control all tooling documents Maintain tooling database Perform FEA simulations to validate new tool designs Develop future FEA capabilities Complete other engineering projects as assigned by the Engineering Manager.

Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering required Excellent computer applications skills with experience in 3D solid modeling, CAD-CAM, Microsoft Office software and managing databases. Minimum of 5 years of experience in roll tooling design. Machine design experience is a plus.

Experience in finite element analysis and programming. MSC Marc and Patran experience preferred.
