This position assists in the organization, cleaning, set up and teardown of equipment and ordering supplies for the Extrusion Department.


  • Ensures that chemicals used in manufacturing are of the expected purity level and meet all requirements in the appropriate MPS and/or PPS documents, and those that do not are immediately segregated and removed from all manufacturing areas.

  • Ensure that necessary tools, fixtures, equipment, labware and disposables for preparing all machines, coating and cleanroom support chemical solutions are maintained at the appropriate level and are clean and uncontaminated.

  • Prepares machines and coating chemical solutions and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is properly executed and maintained.

  • Ensures that there are adequate levels of all necessary chemicals and disposables to avoid production back orders.

  • Implements chemical handling best practices and leads chemical safety within the area.

  • Receives technical advice from engineers or supervisor for complex problems.

  • Performs other related duties and tasks as required.

As recommended by Occupational Physician at pre-employment medical.


  • Education equivalent to HS Diploma.

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.

  • Qualification as a Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser (DGSA) would be an advantage.

  • PC skills including standard offices packages.

  • Ability to work well as a team member.


  • Proactive with excellent planning and organizational skills.

  • Detail oriented and reliable.

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

  • Test specimen preparation/general equipment operation.

  • Good working knowledge of medical device materials and processes.

VIEW JOBS 11/9/2018 12:00:00 AM 2019-02-07T00:00 OVERVIEW Performs mechanical equipment inspections, services equipment, repairs and maintains S & B equipment resources both at site locations and at warehouse shop. RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for receiving, inspection, cleaning and repair/calibration/certification of small tools owned by S&B. Maintains adequate inventory of spare parts. Controls cost of operation. Responsible for determination of when to repair tools and when they should be scrapped due to cost/age or obsolescence. EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent required. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: Computer literate and knowledgeable of bar code technology/RFID systems, Trained in small tool repair, equipment inspection and repair, tool room supervision and competent to order and maintain max/min level of spare parts. Trained in gauge calibration, torque wrench calibration, electrical resistance tests of tool insulation. Able to repair and certify operations of electric and air powered tools. Minimum of five years of experience in small tool repair, mechanical maintenance and repair of vehicles and construction equipment as well as tool management. TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Repair, maintain tools and construction equipment. * Inspect and certify tools and equipment as suitable and safe for use. * Assign and apply bar code ID to tools. * Load tool trailers. * Order and maintain spare parts inventory on a computerized database. LANGUAGE SKILLS: Be able to read technical procedures and specifications, understand government regulations, business correspondence and manuals. Ability to write reports, requisitions, handle business correspondence with vendors, follow policies and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate information both written and verbally to department employees and respond to questions from projects, managers and fellow workers. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Performs basic business math and perform inventory dollar calculations. Able to assimilate and utilize new communication technology. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasionally, will conduct or participate in field construction site visits to tool rooms in operating plants. This requires the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Must be able to pass forklift certification. Must be able to lift and position heavy tools up to 84 lbs. Also requires clear, close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Requires the ability to work for long periods of time standing and sitting. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Normal work environment will be a shop environment with moderate noise. Occasionally, will work outdoors. Will participate in field trips to remote construction or warehouse sites and other warehouse / tool room locations in operating plants. This will involve exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals and non-toxic airborne particles.
