Tool Room Technician

This position is responsible for the maintenance and logistical support of the service tool inventory owned by the Machine Division Service Department in the Irving, Texas location. This position is responsible for assisting service employees' with their tool needs in a positive, caring manner while showing a sense of urgency. Must provide for prompt, accurate and efficient expediting of all tool room functions. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Job Duties:

• Identifies, organizes, labels tool room inventory to assure accurate input into computerized database.

• Records tool information into computerized database on an on-going basis.

• Processes tools from inventory into work orders and returns them to inventory after use by service technicians

• Inspects, cleans, and repairs, (or makes arrangement for the repair of) tools after return from service technicians before returning them to inventory

• Maintains tools in branch inventory to assure safe and serviceable condition and availability for use

• Analyzes New Product Introduction information and recommends procurement of tooling needed to support Caterpillar and allied product in the Holt Cat service territory.

• Reviews tool budget and records to maintain awareness of costs associated with providing tooling while assuring best usage of company financial resources.

• Instruct service technicians in the safe and proper use of tools, where necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

This position requires a self-motivated, thoughtful individual with a mechanical background. Must be able to:

• GED or High School Diploma Preferred

• Must have a valid driver license

• Must have excellent computer skills. Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Office such as excel, word, Power Point and Outlook.

• Must be highly organized and have excellent attention to detail regarding paperwork, record keeping, data entry and inventory of tools.

• Must be able inspect, cleans, and repair tools. (Make minor tooling repair.)

• Must work well with all internal customers and vendors by providing excellent customer service

• Must be able to work 7 AM - 4 PM Monday-Friday
