Located 96 miles southeast of Raleigh Durham airport, Kinston is a city in Lenoir County, North Carolina, with a population of 21,677 as of the 2010 census. It has been the county seat of Lenoir County since its formation in 1791. Kinston is located in the coastal plains region of eastern North Carolina. In 2009, Kinston won the All-America City Award.

The plant was built in 1993 with an addition in 1995, manufactures paper cups and cartons, and has approximately 350 employees.

Responsibilities

JOB DUTIES:

  • Responsible for providing timely and accurate delivery of inventory items to the maintenance staff and other facility personnel as needed.

  • Physically place incoming items into their assigned locations and record total on-hand count via the inventory entry log.

  • Assist in performing daily cycle counts to ensure the accuracy of our inventory data and prevent unnecessary equipment downtime do to stock outages.

  • Ensure the security of all inventory items, by maintaining an environment of limited access, and keyed access for remote storage areas of larger items.

  • Check received parts against paperwork to verify accuracy and forward them onto the Parts Coordinator for processing in SAP.

  • Work with vendors to help maintain organization and adequate levels of vendor managed inventory items.

  • Ability to precisely measure various parts/materials for the purpose of verifying, comparing, and ordering of new parts.

  • Assist in coordinating deliveries, shipments, pick-ups & disposal of parts, equipment, material, waste.

  • Matches invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents. Requests missing or incomplete information from requisitioned as instructed by your supervisor.

  • Provide tracking information for ordered items as needed.

  • Reviews packing list against open PO's and brings discrepancies to the attention of the Parts Coordinator.

  • Assist Maintenance Supervisor/Plant Engineer as required.

  • Maintains work area in a safe and organized manner.

  • Performs daily cleaning activities listed on the Master Cleaning schedule for their area.

  • Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 2 yrs. experience working in an inventory or distribution environment or closely related field. Familiarity with SAP, Maintenance Connection, Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc. preferred.

  • Ability to stand, walk, twist up to 8 hours per day.

  • Ability to perform simple calculations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) and applies good mathematical reasoning. Accounting experience a must.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and effectively with little to no supervision.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to be detail oriented.

  • Positive work attitude and willingness to cooperate.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Employee must be in current job for at least 6 months before being promoted or transferred.

  • Employee must have a good attendance record

  • 5 occurrences or less at time of bid.
  • As with any position, an employee may be assigned to any shift as business needs dictate. The ability to work any shift as needed is required.
