DPS is looking for an experienced Toolmaker WITH FLEXIBLE HOURS ON 1st, 2nd, OR 3RD SHIFT. This qualified candidate will fabricate, machine and assemble fixtures and tooling components for the production of machined parts. Perform maintenance and rework of fixtures/tooling as needed. Operate VMC (CNC) for multiple feature and profiled components. Manual machining operations on orders including the manufacture of prototypes. Assist other shifts for tooling needs and supporting production to minimize machine down time.

This toolmaker should have experience in:
•Manufacturing environments
•Good mechanical aptitude
•Manual and CNC experience
•Ability to work on multiple jobs
•Ability to clearly communicate with employees, peers, and management.
•Good mechanical aptitude, shop mathematics and understands machining processes.
•Advanced print reading and specification interpretation.

•Manufacture and assemble fixture and tooling components to achieve estimated rates.
•Perform required maintenance of fixtures and tooling as needed or requested.
•Sharpen cutting tools as needed or requested.
•Perform rework on non-conforming parts.
•Submit fixtures, tooling, or parts to inspection for verification.
•Perform manual machining operations on job orders including manufacture of prototypes.

This candidate will work independently and has a strong sense of urgency. Print reading and specification interpretation required, Surfcam knowledge/experience helpful.

The toolmaker is paid approximately $18.00-$25.00 per hour (based on experience) and would be working full time or part time on 3rd shift. 2nd and 3rd shift earns a 10% shift premium in addition to there hourly wage.

Position Title: Machinist Reports To: Production Supervisor Operate CNC boring bar for products including gearcases, end trucks, drums, bottom blocks, and related machined crane components. Principal Responsibilities: * Operate and program CNC boring bar to make required drilling, boring, and milling operations, including editing and programming * Notes, reports, and corrects variations in program sequence, positioning, etc. * Keeps supervisors aware of pertinent issues, information, etc. warranting supervisors knowledge, action and/or resolution. * Ensures proper and accurate records, files, and databases are maintained within areas of responsibility. * Operate an overhead crane to lift and position product. * Maintain tooling. * Ensure proper inspection, i.e. first piece inspection(s), are performed and make adjustments as required. * Perform functions in a timely, safe, and cost-effective manner. * Ensure work area is kept clean and safe. * Perform preventative maintenance on CNC. * Maintains a flexible, cooperative, team oriented, and customer focused attitude. Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Operate control console for CNC machining. Able to work within tolerance requirements and perform visual inspection. Able to use required hand tools, precision measuring instruments, etc. Able to work from detailed drawings, blueprints, prints, work orders, etc. Other Requirements: General knowledge of tooling applications and shop practices. Possess general machinist tools and related equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; talk; hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
