Job Description: SummaryThis position is responsible for supporting the manufacturing operation. This individual will collaborate, plan and organize internal resources to complete fabricated work across business units in timely and cost effective manner. Must have big picture view and ability to determine urgency of work; have the ability to run all machine tools in the shop, (mills, lathes, grinders, torches, welders, heat treat, saws and CNC equipment) as well as a thorough knowledge of steels, plastics and applications.) This position will also support directly with the mold repair shop and may perform mold repair duties as needed.
Thorough training in machine shop and tool room practice required.
Have the ability to run all machine tools in the shop. (mills, lathes, grinders, torches, welders, heat treat, saws)
Have the ability to use all hand and measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, indicators, travel dials, etc.)
Ability to work with all set-ups, machine designers, Engineers on plant wide projects, with a proven strength in walk-ins and hot jobs.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work closely with engineers on process improvements.
Experience that demonstrates mechanical aptitude necessary to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Experience in machine modifications and process improvements on equipment in manufacturing environment.
Innovative and willing to generate new ideas.
Coordinate work flow in the Tool Room in absence of Coordinator.
Other duties as needed.
