SUMMARY

The Tool Distributor position at Contra Costa Electric, Inc., reports directly to the Tool Department Manager, located in Martinez, CA. The Tool Distributor is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and advising on tool usage and to ensure product safety. In addition, the Tool Technician assists in distribution and inventory in the tool room.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide safe and operational tooling and equipment for the field.

  • Service tools and equipment adhering to the company procedure.

  • Maintain tool inventory with accuracy

  • Transfers & distribute equipment following the company procedures.

  • Set an example to other employees by adhering to the company policy, job description and requests of the supervisor.

  • Participate in the operation of the company safety program

  • Ensure all work-related accidents are reported to the Tool Department Manager.

  • Communicate any safety concerns to the Tool Department Manager.

  • Communicate recurring problems and potential solutions in the Tool room to the Tool Department Manager or Purchasing Manager as appropriate.

  • Communicate relevant information to the Tool Department Manager, as needed.

  • Maintain open and courteous relations with all employees and encourage their input to improve the company.

  • The Tool Distributor will assume other duties and responsibilities as necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires the flexibility to work with other departments of the Company in the Martinez office, as well as working directly with project field staff and/or on project work sites as needed.

PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.

COMPUTER SKILLS

  • Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel).

  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat.

  • Knowledge of Prolog Manager or similar project document control software is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Must have the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate in English, cooperate, and collaborate with multiple levels of customers, employees, unions, government agencies, vendors and suppliers, and other contractor organizations.

The physical demands of this position are those associated with working in a typical office environment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, see, talk, and hear. This role requires communicating verbally and in writing one on one, in small groups, as well as presenting to larger groups of employees. This role requires the ability to work at a computer (reading and keying) for extended periods of time. The employee must move within the office to retrieve files and meet with employees in their offices or conference room. The employee is regularly required to walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally required to travel by car (as a passenger or driver) to Job Sites and must have the ability to navigate around job sites.
