TOOL CRIB COORDINATOR

• Reviews all die records to anticipate developing problems and to troubleshoot, schedules and assigns all preventative maintenance for production tooling

• Directs new tool build, spare component, and tool maintenance

• Assists engineering with tool design and re-design: may attend tool concept, design, release and review meetings

• Verifies updated or revised tooling prints

• Assists in coordinating shift transition and outside services (coatings, heat treat, subs for work overloads)

• Coordinates with machine technicians on setup operation

• Monitors raw material inventory Reviews all die records to anticipate developing problems and to troubleshoot, schedules and assigns all preventative maintenance for production tooling

• Monitor production efficiencies, downtime, and determine ways to fix the inefficiencies

• As necessary, operates equipment and tests equipment accuracy

• Maintain efficient Tool Room operation, including training (operation of equipment; safety standards and practices)

• Be goal-oriented toward manufacturing cost and work center efficiency

• Ensures personnel are utilizing the appropriate tools for their assigned task or tasks.

• Ensures personnel are prepared for current and next task as specified.

Job Requirements

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

• Basic computer background

• Supervisory experience

• Strong math knowledge

• Mechanical aptitude

• Basic metallurgy

• Able to delegate work

• Knowledge of inspection processes and methods

• Knowledge of mechanical manufacturing process

• Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing

• Experience with production tool and prints, tool room equipment, and hard gaging measuring equipment, including a working knowledge of coordinate measuring machine and comparator

• Able to make decisions in crisis situations

• Able to oversee people, priorities, production process, resources, time, and workflow

• Troubleshooting skills

• People skills

• Communication skills (ability to communicate at several different levels)

EXPERIENCE (PREFERRED):

• 5+ years Tool Crib experience, 2 to 3 of those as tool & die maker or supervisor of die makers

• Preference to candidates with experience and training in the wire form industry.
