STEM Preschool is now hiring a Toddler Lead Teacher and Assistant Teachers for our location in Arlington, VA.

Come join our growing team of educators who provide a fun, engaging, and STEM-focused learning experience for children from the ages of 1-2 year's old. Ideal candidates are creative and patient individuals who have an interest in early childhood education.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Planning and implementing a full-day, year-round, and developmentally appropriate curriculum for the class -- including weekly themes and lesson plans, inclusion of STEM-related themes, materials, and rotation of toys and equipment on a regular basis.
• Providing a safe, responsive, and stimulating environment by actively engaging in daily activities and routines.
• Forming and maintaining professional relationships with parents and families.
• Assessing all areas of children's development using the STEM Preschool curriculum.
• Developing and maintaining a portfolio for each child.
• Conducting 1-2 (depending on grade level) parent-teacher conferences per year with each family.
• Supervising and directing a Full-Time Assistant Teacher, Part-Time Assistant Teacher(s), Part-Time Aide(s), and volunteers, as necessary.
• Maintaining all certifications as required.
• Ensuring compliance with all applicable VA rules and regulations.

Requirements

This post is for a Lead Teacher role in our Arlington location. To qualify for this role, a candidate must meet one of the following two requirements by law:

• Bachelor's degree in (a) child development, (b) early childhood education, OR (c) a related field including, but not limited to, education, psychology, social work, or home economics which includes at least nine (9) college semester hours in child development and/or early childhood education; OR

• Two or more years or more of college, which includes 15 (fifteen) semester hours of early childhood education courses; OR
• CDA

• Highschool Diploma
