The Ohio Department of Health supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require occasional attendance in the office for training, meetings and other operational needs. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.

Unless required by legislation, the selected candidate will begin at Pay Grade 12, Step 1 of the Exempt Pay Range Schedule ($29.49 per hour), with an opportunity for pay increase after six months ($31.15) of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

What You'll Do:

  • Acts for administrator regarding matters pertaining to the local tobacco use prevention and control subgrant program.

  • Serves as liaison between administrator and program staff.

  • Represents administrator at meetings and conferences, and assumes responsibility and authority in administrator's absence.

  • Formulates and implements tobacco subgrant program policy.

  • Oversees and manages grants.

  • Develops subgrant program guidance and resources.

  • Analyzes and evaluates programs, procedures and policies.

  • Provides input to supervisor to aid in the development of goals and objectives for the Tobacco Use Prevention and Cessation Program.

  • Prepares and makes presentations for stakeholders.

  • Researches and responds to inquiries and complaints from subgrantees.

  • Furnishes information and explains program to public, legislators and news media.

  • Manages business function of administrator's office.

  • Prepares and administers budgets for subgrant program.

  • Establishes and oversees maintenance of fiscal controls.
