Position Overview:

As a member for Quality Assurance (QA) team you will provide direction and guidance to Contractors and Government entities (Aircraft Program Offices) on QA performance, specification, and compliance throughout the development cycle, the acquisition process, and the evaluation process of technical publications. Conduct In-process reviews (IPRs), validations, and verifications of Electronic and paper Technical Manuals (TM/ETM), Maintenance Requirement Cards (MRC), and Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) as well as providing Adequacy Reviews on Commercial-off-the-Shelf (COTS) Manuals for specification compliance, while assisting NAVAIR leadership in establishing and/or updating QA instructions and procedures to ensure QA compliance standardization is achieved across Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE).

Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Assist the Quality Control Program to ensure continuous service delivery that is consistent and in compliance with the established performance per policy Government standards.

  • Serves as a member of the quality control team of NAVAIR and commercial off the shelf Technical Publication

  • Develop standardized testing methods that facilitate the quality checking process based on contract requirements/standards;

  • Present results to the Project Manager with recommended actions to correct any deficiencies to ensure all standards are continually being met; reports directly to the appropriate Program Director;

  • Interacts with the customer verbally and in writing on matters of concern and performance deficiencies; presents plan for corrective action.

Required Skills

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • Security Clearance REQUIRED. Must already possess and be able to maintain, at minimum a SECRET Security Clearance.

  • Must have Technical Publication experience.

  • Must have effective written/oral communications and interpersonal skills.

  • Must maintain abreast of the latest technology and recommend tools and processes to increase efficiencies.

  • Must be able solve quality related problems.

  • Must possess sound knowledge of QA function within the organization.

  • Must possess good organizational and planning skills.

  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Prior Military experience in QA of Technical Publication is a plus.

Functional Description: Support Individual Contributor Performs functions associated with quality control and quality assurance operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks and carrying out rework and quality assurance procedures related to production or operations. Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures for quality assurance and control. Works with engineers in conducting experiments. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: * Physically quarantine nonconforming material (Forklift exp preferred for this). Perform electronic inventory transactions to prevent unintended use. Execute activities per approved material disposition. Update NCMR Log. * Maintain inventory under Quality Control through transactions and cycle counts. * Assist with identification and organization of quality records associated with Nonconforming Material, CAPA and Internal Audits. * Create training materials as necessary to communicate process requirements to user community. * Conduct investigations into potential quality / compliance concerns. Keep management informed of issues. * Perform other tasks as assigned to enable organizational and quality objectives to be met. Required Qualifications: * 2 years working in medical device, pharmaceutical, or other regulated industry * 2 years working closely or as part of a Quality Assurance or Compliance function * Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) as applied to medical devices Preferred Qualifications: * Experience in Quality Assurance * Forklift certification and materials handling Experience and Education Requirements: * Typically requires a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience and a High School diploma/certificate or equivalent. * Associate's Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred. Travel Required: * None Functional/Business Knowledge: * Moderate understanding of general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job. * Applies acquired job and company knowledge of policies and procedures to complete semi-routine tasks. Scope: * Work at this level requires following standardized methods and under immediate supervision on assignments that are semi-routine in nature. * Follows pre-established guidelines and procedures with minimal choice as to method of performance of the work. * Has contact with employees at other levels within the company.
