Position Requirements:
Demonstrate a genuine concern for the learning of children
Possess a strong curricular and instructional background.
Maintain a current Indiana teaching license.

Strong Organizational Skills
Preferred experience in teaching within a 21st century classroom through the integration of technology
Performance Responsibilities
Teach subject matter, i.e., reading, language arts, social studies, mathematics, science, art, health, physical education, music, applied technology, etc, utilizing the course of study adopted by the Board of Education, correlated with other appropriate learning activities.
Develop lesson plans, adapt curriculum to meet individual student needs, and utilize effective teaching techniques in translating lesson plans into productive student learning experiences which best utilize the time available for instruction.
Utilize computers and other technological classroom support equipment in student instruction.
Control the storage and use of district owned property; make minor adjustments and request repairs as required.
Maintain classroom organization and discipline.
Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere.
Provide and maintain a safe and supervised environment in the classroom and on the school grounds.
Devise and utilize techniques which accurately measure student progress.
Evaluate student's academic and personal growth keeping appropriate records, and prepare progress reports.
Communicate with parents through conferences and other means discussing academic and personal progress; interpret school programs.
Communicate and cooperate with other professional staff in academic and personal growth areas.
Conform to District policies, including attendance, absences and evaluations.
Attendance must be adequate to acceptably perform listed job functions.
Create an effective learning environment through functional and attractive displays, bulletin boards, and interest centers.
Maintain professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and through self-selected professional growth activities.
Participate in faculty meetings and committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
Administer group standardized tests in accordance with district testing program.
Select and requisition books and instructional materials; maintain required inventory records.
Perform other job duties as required.
LIFE INSURANCE: Twin Lakes School Corporation provides qualified employees with $50,000 of term life
insurance. TLSC pays 100% of this premium minus $1/year paid by the employee.
HEALTH INSURANCE: Health insurance is available for eligible employees and is offered through the MASE
Insurance Trust. Twin Lakes School Corporation pays $1259 monthly towards a family plan and $580 monthly towards a single plan.
DENTAL AND VISION INSURANCE: Eligible employees are offered Dental and Vision insurance. TLSC
provides $30 per month towards the premium of a single or family Dental plan and $10 monthly towards a single or family Vision plan.
DEPENDENT LIFE is also offered to our employees. The rate for dependent life is $1.50 per month.
Coverage provided by dependent life:
Spouse: $5000
Child 6 mo. to 19 years or 25 if full-time student: $2000
Child 14 days to 6 months: $500
LONG TERM DISABILITY: TLSC provides a LTD policy should you become disabled and qualify for benefits,
your monthly benefit payment would be approximately 66-2/3 of your monthly
income. (There is a 90-day elimination period.) TLSC pays 100% of this premium minus
$1/year paid by the employee.
Retirement Benefits
VEBA: (Voluntary Employees' Beneficiary Association) Twin Lakes School Corporation contributes $250
annually into an individual VEBA account on behalf of each certified staff member at the completion of each
school year. ($350 will be contributed at the completion of the teacher's first year/$250 each year
thereafter.) (Subject to a vesting schedule)
401(a): Twin Lakes School Corporation will deposit up to 1.5% of the employee's salary into an individual
401(a) account on a monthly basis. This is on a matching dollar for dollar basis up to 1.5% of the
employee's salary according to the employee's contribution to their 403(b) account. (Subject to a
vesting schedule)
403(b): A 403(b) is a great way to save for your retirement. An amount chosen by you is deducted from
each pay throughout the year and sent to your 403(b) vendor. You must open a 403(b) account to
take advantage of the matching dollar for dollar-up to 1.5% of your salary 401(a) contribution by TL.
You will also be enrolled in INPRS-TRF. (Indiana Teachers' Retirement Fund)
