Assigns and manages project managers, change managers, and project staff to maximize the success of the company's project portfolio. Maintains a meaningful portfolio view of project dependencies, resources, integration points, metrics, and schedules across projects.
Ensures proper project controls and consistent practices are in place based on project risks, size and complexity, people impact, and systems development life cycle methods. Ensures and performs appropriate project review efforts based on project assessments, progress and risk. Ensures the appropriate development and use of project deployment, exit strategies, risk mitigation and change management plans. Proposes corrective action plans including staffing and assignment changes based on project performance and risk.
Continuously improves department processes based on business needs and climate. Develops recommendations and action plans to ensure continuous improvement and appropriate management of project and change management methodology, processes, artifacts and software.
Leads, coaches, and provides oversight of PPMO staff throughout their project planning, development, implementation and sustaining change efforts to ensure business, legal, security, and technical needs and opportunities are identified and managed.
Communicates complex technical and business information to technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsible to business leaders for development of solutions, scope development, prioritization, and delivery of systems and functions. Jointly develops plans and solutions in a timely and cost effective manner.
Performs all management duties including, but not limited to, budgeting, hiring, performance reviews, coordinating and scheduling work, salary recommendations, discipline, ensure employees report to work fit for duty, leadership, grievance resolution, coaching & counseling, models Alliant Energy's Core Values at all times.
