Manages the development, implementation and/or maintenance of one or more accounting systems: Journal entries, General Ledger, Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payable, Revenue Reconciliation, Cash Flows, etc. in accordance with GAAP policies and procedures. Designs operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve efficiency. Ensures integration of data produced into systems and supports objectives of financial analysts. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue. Participates in annual audits and special projects. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
May work with external consultants or auditors to provide required information and ensure proper record keeping for historical purposes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
UNITED STATES BOOKS AND RECORDS
Assist with the management of the month-end closing process, ensuring a timely and accurate completion.
Manages and oversees corporate accounting control and financial treatment over a group of accounts within a given specialized area.
Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Review and posting of journal entries created by the corporate general ledger accountants (as applicable).
Ensures account reconciliations are completed timely and in accordance with corporate policies including proper resolution of identified issues.
Implements corporate accounting policies and procedures to ensure adequate controls and compliance with guiding accounting principles, concepts, and practices.
Provides guidance on accounting treatments to other departments.
Provide analysis of financial results including variance analysis and trend analysis.
Assist with the review of all general ledger accounts to identify significant variance activity.
Provide information and assistance to the Company's internal and external auditors.
Streamline the accounting processes and procedures to increase productivity and accuracy.
Enforce the policies and procedures to mitigate financial risk and enhance the control environment.
GLOBAL ASSISTANCE TO WEX CLOSE PROCESS
Maintain the month-end close process timeline and monitor all WEX subsidiaries adherence to key deliverables deadlines.
Act as a resource for international accounting teams to assist in compliance with WEX financial close policies and procedures.
Assist international accounting teams with their use of financial systems to promote a more efficient close process.
Monitor the inter-company account reconciliation process for all United States and foreign entities.
Determine the impact of foreign currency movements on inter-company and other balance sheet accounts.
Participate in special projects impacting the accounting area:
Respond to requests for financial information from internal and external customers.
Assist and lead special projects.
Represent the accounting department on new initiatives.
Identify areas of reporting risk to the Company.
Assist in the integration of new acquisitions in a controlled, compliant and efficient manner as applicable.
Special projects may require international travel.
Minimum Required Qualifications for Consideration:
Bachelors Degree required
5-8 Years of accounting experience
Unquestioned integrity and honesty
Strong organizational skills
Ability to effectively communicate
Strong team building skills
Must pass a successful background investigation
Prior management experience
Experience in working for a multinational organization with multi-currency foreign subsidiaries.
