JOB SUMMARY:

This paid internship will be responsible for assisting with the overall maintenance and care of Titletown Park. The position is seasonal from spring 2024 through late summer/early fall with a 3-month minimum duration.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manicuring lawn areas including sodding, seeding, fertilizing, aerating and frequent mowing.

• Landscape bed maintenance including mulching, installing plant material, pruning, seasonal cut down and clean up.

• Weed and pest management including identification and various forms of removal.

• Moisture management including watering portable planters and irrigation system maintenance.

• Tree pruning, training, replacement and leaf collection.

• Working knowledge of plant identification.

• Safely operate all equipment and machinery.

JOB Qualifications:

• Prior landscape maintenance is preferred.

• Candidates must have a valid driver's license.

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Landscape Management, Horticulture, or related college program.

• Must be able to maintain a professional appearance while carrying out responsibilities in a public work environment.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

• Ability to reach, bend, climb, and lift on a frequent basis.

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds frequently.

• Regularly exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.

• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time throughout the day.

• Ability to focus on projects for periods of time.

• Operates in a professional environment.

• Role routinely uses equipment and machinery.

SUPERVISES: This position has no supervisory responsibilities
