NOTICE OF VACANCY--PROFESSIONAL
Position Title: Title II Enhanced Beginning Teacher Mentor (2 Positions)-Contracted Position
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: (In accordance with WV Code §18A-2-9)
Teachers applying to be Professional Teacher Mentors must possess an enthusiasm for teaching and have demonstrated outstanding teaching skills. These individuals must have mastered their subject matter and possess effective oral and written communication skills. The Professional Mentor Teacher is to only function as a resource and support for new teachers.
Design and conduct a series of Beginning Teacher workshops that are to be scheduled approximately 4 to 6 times during the school year.
Provide assistance with unit planning, instructional pacing, and lesson plans.
Conduct classroom visits and observations continuously throughout the school year.
Provide the support necessary to increase the retention rate of beginning teachers.
Provide both written and verbal feedback to the beginning teacher on a monthly basis.
Meet with the school administrator to review means to further assist in the future success of the beginning teacher.
Submit monthly calendars identifying activities and work time.
QUALIFICATIONS: This position will be filled with the most qualified applicant pursuant to the criteria set forth in WV Code §18A-4-7a, based upon the following minimum qualifications
Must be or have been a fully certified teacher with Monroe County Schools with successful experience in education.
The candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge in use of office 365 (email, TEAMS, etc.)
Recommendation by previous educational employer to include an excellent ability to work well with others.
Willing to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the project which will include evening sessions and meetings.
Salary: Pursuant to WV Code §18A-4-2, in accordance with Monroe County Administrative Salary Schedule, commensurate with experience and education level. Salary based on experience and education level per Monroe County BOE salary schedule plus competitive benefits package equal to approximately 35% of direct compensation. $25 dollars per hour. (not to exceed 275 hours per school year)
