Qualifications:

Degree in social work, special education, counseling or other related services or a valid New Jersey Special Education Certificate and/or School Social Worker Certificate

Ability to implement interventions to support academic needs in ELA and Math

Using data to coordinate interventions through the I&RS Process

Supporting at-risk elementary students with academic, social and behavioral needs

Supports will include working with student individually, in small groups and within the classroom

Working in collaboration with teachers to plan and implement supports for identified students

Assisting with the I&RS process including the scheduling of meetings, communication with parents and monitoring of student progress towards achievement of established goals

This is an eleven month position with 20 working days in the summer to be coordinated with needs of the building principal

  • This position is for the 2024-25 school year only and is dependent on the receipt of Title I funding

All alternate route candidates ("Certificate of Eligibility) must show completion of 50 hours of pre-service training through a DOE approved CE educator program prior to being interviewed for a position. The certificate of completion must be uploaded into the AppliTrack portal in order for alternate route candidates to be considered.   • In accordance with S-414/A-3188 (http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2018/Bills/S0500/414_R2.HTM), school districts, charter schools, nonpublic schools, and contracted service providers ("employers") are required to review the last twenty years of employment history of prospective employees to ascertain allegations of child abuse or sexual misconduct. It explicitly prohibits such employers from hiring a person serving in a position which involves regular contact with students unless the employer conducts a review of the employment history of the applicant by contacting former and current employers and requesting information regarding child abuse and sexual misconduct allegations.
