Responsibilities of the Title Clerk:

• Timely processing of both new and used car deals.

• Direct responsibility for verifying the costs for the accounting office, including costs of add-ons, additional equipment, and reconditioning.

• Manages the legal transfer of all documents and titles for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

• Prepare various tax and title documents, and process all new and used vehicles for registration in the state in which they are to be titles.

• Submits all legal transfer work to appropriate agencies promptly.

• Checks for accuracy in the application and ensures that all information that is required is complete and accurate.

• Prepares payoff checks for new vehicles and trade-ins.

• Signs over titles for all wholesalers who have paid in full, and prepares a monthly report to management of any funds not collected from wholesalers.

• Processes yearly renewal of dealer tags in conjunction with the Controller.

Qualifications of the Title Clerk:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a Title Clerk

• Previous high-volume dealership experience is required

• Knowledgeable of applicable titling regulations and laws required to perform all aspects related to the job.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Quick learner with a willingness to adapt to new technology platforms.

• Previous experience working in Dealertrack/Tekion a major plus.

• Must successfully pass a background check, pre-employment drug screening, and hold a valid driver's license.
