The Title III Titans Track Advisor is a five-year grant funded position within the Marketing, PR & Enrollment Management Division, reporting directly to the Title III Titans Track Project Manager. The project is titled Titans Track, which supports the college's strategic plan, enrollment goals, and institutional success, strongly supporting retention and completion. Responsibilities include providing holistic, integrative, and collaborative approaches to student services while enabling the academic and personal success of each student; assists in the planning, coordination and implementation of support programs and services associates with the college SEM and Strategic plans.

Work closely with the college's early alert and intervention system to help increase the rate of student success and retention. Participates in recommending, developing and monitoring systems to provide and track support services to new and continuing students, while fully utilize systems such as CRM Advise.

Assist the Coordinator of Advisement and Retention with analyzing the performance of The Advisement and Student Success Center. Collaborate with the Coordinator to annually review the New Student Advisement and Registration program to ensure the program is able to meet the needs of all students. Evaluate and develop advisement opportunities in a variety of methods.

Assist with developing and implementing programs designed to enhance the persistence and retention of special student populations such as at-risk, pell-recipient, and first-generation students. Responsible for increases in retention of these populations.

Support students with college transition, setting academic goals, registration, and connecting them to campus resources, services, building community, and other opportunities to increase their college success through one-one-one and/or group virtual and face-to-face sessions.

Use a variety of methods and technology to communicate proactively and regularly with students based on identified risk factors including, academic, financial and socio-economic; assisting them in developing individual achievement plans for success while integrating CCM's Educational Opportunity Fund model.

Qualifications

  • Education

Bachelor's degree in Student personnel Services, Counseling or Higher Education required; master's degree preferred.

Qualifications

  • Experience

Minimum of three years experience in student advisement, counseling, admission or registration services at an institution of higher education; community college preferred.

Detail oriented and organized.

Able to effectively advocate for students. Strong communications skills - verbal and written.

Skills in listening and asking appropriate questions; an awareness of others' reactions and an ability to adjust actions accordingly, including de-escalation skills. Skilled in identifying the nature of problems; developing approaches for implementing an idea or solution to a problem; and in evaluating the likely success of an idea in relations to the demands of the situation. Ability to track data and outcomes.

Knowledge of various computer software, especially data base programs and Microsoft Office.
