At Mills Fleet Farm our Alignment and Brake Technician teammates service our customer vehicles in brake and hydraulic repair, suspension and wheel alignment, exhaust, oil change, tire rotation, tire mounting and dismounting, completing vehicle courtesy checks and complete vehicle inspections, as they continue learning new techniques to stay abreast in a rapidly growing automotive industry while increasing their knowledge of diagnosing and repairing vehicles.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and repair to specifications brake and hydraulic, suspension and alignment, and exhaust.

  • Change oil, oil filter, check/replace bulbs and wipers, and check fluids and air filters. Install batteries and checks electrical systems.

  • Install and perform tire maintenance. Install parts which include shock absorbers and suspension.

  • Inform store management of equipment mechanical repair problems as they occur

  • Maintain an organized and neat bay.

  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions in order to stay abreast with rapidly changing automotive technology.

  • Adhere to all company policy, procedure, safety and environmental rules.

  • Road test vehicles when needed.


  • Demonstrate the ability to learn basic mechanical tasks
  • 2 ASE certifications preferred
  • A high level of motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.
  • 18 years of age and must have a valid driver's license.

Job Summary: We are looking for compressed air service technician for field coverage in the Mason City, Fort Dodge, Charles City area in Iowa. Those with electrical/mechanical systems knowledge with a desire to learn about compressed air systems are encouraged to apply. The Field Service Technician servescustomers by installing, trouble shooting, repairing and maintaining all makesof rotary screw and reciprocating air compressors, along with additionalcompressed air system components. You will use precision measuring toolsfor diagnostic trouble shooting of compressed air equipment. In addition, youneed to have knowledge of all operations and parts manuals associated with allequipment. * Effectively communicates verbally and in writing withcustomers and co-workers. * Provides technical assistance on equipment start-ups,installations and repairs of compressed air systems. Including"hands-on" work to assure equipment operates to customer's requirements. * Able to read wiring schematics and diagrams for allequipment. * Serves as technical support for customers and CustomerService Managers. * Documents service and installation activities bycompleting work orders for each job, maintenance checklist and daily timesheets. * Increases Ingersoll Rand customer's awareness of howIngersoll Rand products, services and solutions; such as Package Care,Preventative Maintenance, Diagnostics, Audits and Leak Detection canbenefit their operations. * Maintains rapport with customers by addressingcomplaints, identifying solutions, suggesting improved methods andtechniques and recommending system improvements. * Ensures proper operation of compressed air equipment bycompleting preventative maintenance requirements and 47 point inspectionson a wide variety of compressors, refrigerated dryers, desiccant dryersand additional compressed air components. * Works with Service Coordinator on ordering andgathering parts and supplies necessary to complete installations andrepairs. * Conduct safety assessments of a continuously changingworking environment. * Daily travel to customer sites, occasional overtime,and sporadic on-call emergency service is required to meet customers'needs. Qualifications: * A High School Diploma or equivalent and 3-5 years oftrouble shooting industrial /commercial mechanical systems. * Operating knowledge of Microsoft office software andworking proficiency with hand held computer (i.e. Smartphone, iPad). * Candidates must have their own set of standard tools. * Valid Driver's License with no major trafficviolations, suspensions, or DUI's in previous 5 years. * EPA Certification Preferred (Refrigerationexperience/certification a plus). * This position requires working in diverse conditionsincluding but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms with exposure tonoisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions,precarious places, and risk of electrical shock (high voltage). * This position is highly physical and requires regularuse of hands, fingers, walking, stooping, and kneeling. It requiresemployees to regularly lift and or move up to 10 lbs, frequently lift andor move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and or move more than 50 lbs.
