This site is a part of the Rural Health Service Corps (RHSC). RHSC is an AmeriCorps National Service Program administered by the Rural Health Network of South Central New York. The purpose of the Rural Health Service Corps is to provide meaningful service and learning opportunities for people committed to improving the health and lives of those living in South Central New York State. Rural Health Service Corps members address the broad community health needs of South Central NY, with a focus on health access and education (specifically combating the opioid epidemic) and creating systemic food security.

AmeriCorps members serving through the Rural Health Service Corps have the opportunity to serve their communities as they develop professional skills, build teamwork and leadership abilities, learn more about the areas of nonprofit management and community health, and connect with a broad network of AmeriCorps members, alumni and supporters. Rural Health Service Corps started in 2008 and expanded to include a VISTA program in 2012. Since the RHSC program's inception, over 200 members have served with RHSC in communities throughout South Central NY. RHSC alumni have gone on to careers in medicine, public health and nonprofit management, among other fields.

Job Description: Budget Title: Instructional Support Associate (SL-2) Salary: $42,651-$46,000 The Bartle Stacks Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for directing student employees to perform daily stack maintenance operations in the Glenn G. Bartle Library and Fine Arts Collections. As a member of the Reader Services Department, the incumbent serves as a team member responsible for providing innovative, user-centered services and resources for a diverse constituency of students, faculty, staff, researchers and community members. This position functions in direct contact with the public and has the primary responsibility of training and supervising Stacks student employees in accordance with the needs of Reader Services. The ability to operate an automated library system and other technologies, manual dexterity, lifting, bending, stretching, carrying books and the ability to move loaded book trucks, climb a multi-step double handrail ladder and lift an excess of 30 lbs. are required. The incumbent reports to the Assistant Head of Reader Services, Annex and Stacks. Duties and Responsibilities: * Primary duty: Monitor daily shelving and return duties assigned to the student stacks maintenance staff at Bartle Library and special projects as assigned. This includes: collecting and preparing student timesheets, scheduling and performing the student's range of duties at any given time. * As a member of the Annex/Stacks team, the incumbent must monitor their university Bmail account and telephone daily. They assure stacks maintenance associated work is processed consistently 10:00- 6:00 pm Monday - Friday. * Assigns, tracks and augments staff assignments to improve discovery in the stacks. Helps staff resolve problems related to missing items, location, call number and makes connections with Bartle staff to ensure resolutions are appropriate, consistent and complete. * Participates in daily collection management and circulation routines. Prepares material for daily distribution by library courier. Assures that books, journals and other Library materials that have been paged or added to branch collections are shelved within 48 hours of return. * Provides annual assistance to keep Current Periodical areas and corresponding spreadsheets updated, according to latest cancellation information provided. * Maintains daily communication with the direct supervisor and team of student workers to ensure that problems regarding requested materials are resolved daily according to public services standards. Interprets Library policies and procedures on demand. * Provides back-up in cases of courier absence, on occasion, will transfer material between branches using library van. * Bartle service desk hours.
