Get to Know the Opportunity:

This position is for a Tier 2 Detection and Response Analyst. As a member of the Detection and Response Team (DART) you will handle escalations from Tier 1 analysts working to analyze, contain, and eradicate potential cyber threats to the organization.

You will play a key role in the detection engineering process while working with other highly skilled team members on both the offensive and defensive spectrums. This includes analyzing and dissecting techniques utilized by threat actors, understanding where best detection opportunities lie, identifying potential monitoring gaps, and configuring detections to defend the organization. The role will also have the opportunity to work in and help mature other areas such as threat hunting and automation (SOAR).

The Contributions you will make:

  • Uses security monitoring tools to investigate, respond to, and recommend appropriate corrective actions for data security incidents

  • Participates with development, maintenance, and testing of security alerts covering a wide range of operating systems, services, and applications

  • Provide a technical resource and escalation point for Tier 1 analysts

  • Collaborate with other SOC analysts and take initiative to hunt for undetected or abnormal threat activity.

  • Produce high quality oral and written presentations, communicating complex technical matters clearly and concisely with audiences ranging from peers to senior management

  • Develops and assists in maintenance of standard operating procedures to ensure security is in compliance with policies and standards

  • Part of a scheduled on-call rotation

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Knowledge & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a directly related field with 2-3 years of professional experience

  • Knowledge of and hands-on experience with security monitoring tools such as SIEM and EDR

  • Experience in security aspects of multiple platforms, operating systems, software, communications, and network protocols

  • Requires excellent analytical ability, consultative and communication skills, and strong judgement

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple deliverables

Compensation Pay Disclosure:

Voya is committed to pay that's fair and equitable, which means comparable pay for comparable roles and responsibilities.

The below annual base salary range reflects the expected hiring range(s) for this position in the location(s) listed. In addition to base salary, Voya offers incentive opportunities (i.e., annual cash incentives, sales incentives, and/or long-term incentives) based on the role to reward the achievement of annual performance objectives. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Voya Financial is willing to pay at the time of this posting.

Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted salary range based upon the candidate's geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

$67,700 - $112,850 USD
