Thrift Store Assistant Manager

The Foundry Ministries Thrift Store, Pelham, AL has an immediate opening for a Assistant Manager. The Assistant Manager assists the General Manager in the operations of sorting, evaluation, and pricing of all donated items. These items include clothing, shoes and accessories, domestics, showcase, and household goods. The Manager supports the training and supervision of program participants assigned to the thrift store. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Store Management: Support the General Manger in the daily operations, including daily deposits and reports Oversee all store and production operations in the absence of the General Manager Serve as the store liaison to Distribution Center General Manager in the absence of General Manager Ensure all store procedures and protocol are followed by staff, program participants, and customers Responsible for maintaining a neat, orderly, and clean production area at all times Assist in the supervision, placement, training, and cross-training of all program participants assigned to Product Communicate with Foundry program staff on issues that concern both departments of the ministry needs when necessary Evaluate program participant performance and provide feedback. Must be able to submit disciplinary when appropriate for program participants in accordance with program guidelines Promote a collegial atmosphere within the all thrift store departments, working cooperatively with all team members to help them and the department attain their overall goals Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production goals and metrics are met Ensure Production inventory is staged in designated areas Production Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Production department Ensure all store procedures and protocol are followed by staff, program participants, and customers Responsible for maintaining a neat, orderly, and clean production area at all times Oversee the supervision, placement, training, and cross-training of all program participants assigned to Production Communicate with Foundry program staff on issues that concern both departments of the ministry needs when necessary.
