The work you perform will help you develop an understanding of:

  • the different third party relationships an organization may have across different industries;
  • the drivers which affect behaviors of business partners, suppliers and customers; and
  • the operational processes and controls required by an organization to effectively manage and monitor its third party relationships.

EERMS offers a broad variety of solutions for our clients, e.g. designing and implementing third party governance and risk management frameworks, assessing supply chain performance, developing third party compliance inspection programs and conducting master service agreement and contract risk assessments.

  • Support the design and implementation of enterprise risk operating models, identifying, evaluating, and providing thorough solutions to complex business and technology risks

  • Design policies and procedures that support the successful implementation of TPRM operating models

  • Facilitate process walkthrough discussions to document end-to-end business processes and functional requirements

  • Track and communicate engagement performance and planning to Deloitte engagement management, ensuring project milestones remain on track and are completed timely

  • Actively mentor and train team members on Third Party Risk Management processes, governance, and frameworks

  • Work cross-functionally with team members to support and drive a collaborative team environment

  • Create and design effective presentations as a means for communicating project and deliverable progress to clients

  • Perform sophisticated data analyses to understand client's business and identify risk

  • Execute advanced services and supervise staff in delivering basic services

  • Assist in the selection and tailoring of approaches, methods and tools to support service offering or industry projects

  • Understand client's business environment and basic risk management approaches

  • Demonstrate a general knowledge of market trends, competitor activities, Deloitte & Touche's products and service lines

  • Actively participate in decision making with engagement management and seek to understand the broader impact of current decisions

  • Generate innovative ideas and challenge the status quo

  • Build and nurture positive working relationships with clients with the intention to exceed client expectations

  • Facilitate use of technology-based tools or methodologies to review, design and/or implement products and services

  • Identify opportunities to improve engagement profitability

  • Excellent potential for 1. playing lead role in designated tasks of the project team in gathering, organizing and analyzing data; 2. making major contributions in assuring products/deliverables meet contract/work plan; and 3. strong potential for growth and acceptance of additional responsibilities

  • 3+ years of related experience within professional services

  • Demonstrated experience with risk management across the third party engagement lifecycle (pre-contracting, contracting and post contracting) and an understanding of the associated organizational infrastructure (e.g. relevant internal controls, business processes, governance structures)

  • Experience in one or more of the following:

o Business process and organizational design (e.g. process mapping, workflows, governance structures across the three lines of defense, process and enterprise level RACIs)

o Procurement / supply chain process assessment and design (and other third party engagement processes not typically within procurement remit, e.g. distributor relationships)

o Contract management

o Third party audit experience (e.g. contract compliance and/or cost and revenue recovery inspections ), leveraging data analytics and queries for electronic testing where available

o Third Party Risk Management tools and technology solutions (e.g. GRC enablement solutions, etc.)

o Third Party Risk Management market utilities (e.g. community models)

o Framework testing (e.g. Process UAT, design of testing scripts and testing plans, etc.)

  • Experience in change management and/or managed service solution design and implementation a plus

  • Strong proficiency in basic PC applications including Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong teaming skills, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities

  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills including the ability to translate technical information to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences of varying seniority levels

  • Willingness to travel 50% with national and global travel expectations

  • BA/BS in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Accounting/Finance or related fields

This individual will partner with our IT and Risk partners to review current state risk assessment processes and recommend new process enhancements in line with audit requirements to streamline the user experience that covers financial, operational, regulatory, reputational, and technology risks, as appropriate.  The Third Party Risk Management Specialist will also be responsible for setting up a network of third party managers for critical third parties, many of whom will be located in the business.  This will require working closely with senior business stakeholders and risk partners across MetLife.   Key Responsibilities:   * Overall responsibility to develop best-in-class global third party management strategies while maintaining or improving quality, performance and risk mitigation. * Manage operations for supplier lifecycle management program which includes but is not limited to: * Pre-contract (i.e. supplier on-boarding, sanctions screening, supplier health analysis). * Post-contract (i.e. contract lifecycle management, supplier governance and off-boarding of suppliers) activities. * Solutioning and design for future state model incorporating new technologies to better enable expedient and streamlined process allowing procurement partners to do business at ease while mitigating risk to the organization. * Support programs outside of the US through the development of processes and ongoing communication with regional leadership. * Manage business partner and business based third party managers relationship including the ongoing education and training of these managers on requirements needed to properly monitor supplier performance and risks. * Develop relationships with supplier managers, business owner, and global procurement commodity leads to understand strategically how to create mutually beneficial opportunities.   Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills: Required: * 5-7 years professional experience in Supplier Management and/or procurement operations. * Excellent relationship building, influencing, communication and presentation skills. * Ability to perform in complex cross-functional, global, business environment and handle multiple tasks successfully. * Excellent organizational skills – multitasking, proactive planning and time management. * High degree of problem solving and decision-making ability; Flexibility and ability to adapt to change.   Preferred: * Bachelor’s Degree. * Global experience and perspective of business environment and technology. * Working knowledge of PeopleSoft, Ariba, Archer, Service Now, or similar applications. * Advanced user of PowerPoint, Excel, and SharePoint. * Strong active listening and facilitation skills.   Business Category Procurement   Number of Openings 1   At MetLife, we’re leading the global transformation of an industry we’ve long defined.
