The Third-Party Billing Specialist is responsible for the activities related to the Per Member Per Month (PMPM) Census payment for Advocates and our affiliated partners, known as the Behavioral Health Care Partners (BHCP).

This is a hybrid position, requiring 3 days in office per week : current in office days are Monday/Thursday/Friday 8:30am-5:00pm/8:00am-4:30pm.

Responsibilities

Calculate monthly Expected Payment with reports due from the various Managed Care Organizations (MCOs) and Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs). Calculate monthly payments due to the Affiliated Partners. Reconcile payment information and complete reconciliation reports as needed.

Maintain Year to Date information for the Census Payments. Attend meetings pertaining to the fiscal requirements and needs of the BHCP. Interface with external vendors and stakeholders related to payments.

Interact with IT services staff on computer-based reporting systems (eHana). Maintain and update procedures for the Census Payment process. Promote strong working relationships and excellent customer service. Attends and actively participates in supervision and staff meetings.

Attend trainings as assigned; maintain necessary certifications. Perform all duties in accordance with the agency's policies and procedures. Adhere to all principles related to the Advocates Way.

Qualifications

AS in Accounting and 1-2 years accounting experience in receivables or general accounting preferably in non-profit, human services and/or health care environment. Excellent written and verbal communication, and strong attention to detail.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel. Proficiency in accounting software applications (experience with Solomon a plus). Must be well-organized and willing to learn and take initiative. High energy level, superior interpersonal skills and ability to function in a team atmosphere as well as independently. Strongly prefer candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.
