ON Semiconductor in Mountain Top, PA is expanding and looking to hire a Process Sustaining Engineer to support our expansion.

This is a dynamic and challenging manufacturing environment fabricating advanced Power MOSFET devices. This position will be in the thin films area and will be responsible for sustaining manufacturing. This position will also have additional responsibilities to support yield improvement, Technology Development, and technology transfers in and out of the resident fab.

Responsibilities:

  • Process engineering at the 200mm ON Pennsylvania fab includes the maintenance and control of the processes, providing SPC reaction plans, dispositioning nonconforming product and implementing Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) where needed.

  • The Thin Films process engineer will be expected to evaluate and implement creative solutions which improve performance, yield, cycle time, and reliability.

  • In addition they will be expected to help develop new processes and reduce cost.

  • The individual will also work with equipment technicians to resolve process/equipment issues.

Within 30 days:

  • The successful candidates will understand the process engineering procedures, the tools and methods available for data generation, extraction and analysis as well as a broad understanding of the scope of the current and future projects within the organization.

  • They will also take the time to study and understand the variety of processes that are currently in production at our factory and be given time to understand the integration of the various modules through documentation and discussion with key engineering personnel.

Within 90 days:

  • The successful candidates will have a full understanding of the Thin Films unit processes, including capabilities of both the tooling and the fab infrastructure will be expected.

  • A working knowledge of fab process change procedures and appropriate engineering protocols will be achieved.

  • Particular focus will be given to designed experiments and analysis of various data sources.

Within the first 6 months:

  • The successful candidate will become an integral member of Process Engineering team and will be responsible for assigned unit processes along with certain key projects with a role a leader or key team member.

Requirements:

  • BS in Microelectronic, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.

  • 5 years of experience in Process Engineering with experience in thin films.

  • Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics.

  • Background in semiconductor process technology and wafer fabrication.

  • Ability to utilize DOE and statistical analysis.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Must be an effective team player.

  • Proven problem solving ability and track record of achieving end results

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with AMAT and Novellus CVD/SACVD and PVD systems

  • Experience with FDC software (Brookside, Fabguard or equivalent)

  • Ability to effectively work with a team of manufacturing operators, equipment and process technicians as well as other engineers to achieve overall department goals.

  • Six-sigma training (black or green belt), and/or lean manufacturing certification is a plus

  • Excellent SPC/DoE methodology will be differentiating

As a Photolithography Process Engineer at On Semiconductor, you will develop and support photolithography processing in the 24x7 manufacturing of wafers used for Automotive and Consumer applications throughout the world. You will also provide process engineering support for additional process areas. In this team based environment, you will work closely with Device, Process, and Design Responsibilities: * Own critical photolithography processes in a fast-paced, 24/7 manufacturing environment. * Apply technical skills to implement equipment and process improvements that increase product performance, reduce cost and increase throughput and yield. * Design and document experiments utilizing engineering methodology to improve yield, cost, throughput. * Resolve complex, time sensitive technical problems to maintain production or development schedules. * As a Photolithography Process Engineer, you will be expected to make decisions using data analysis and statistical process control (SPC) techniques. * As a Photolithography Process Engineer you will need to demonstrate the following: * Within the first three to six months, * Provide daily process and product lot disposition support in the photolithography processing area; * Learn to operate and utilize inspection and metrology tools in the photolithography processing area for the purpose of process and lot characterization and disposition. * Acquire fundamental understanding of semiconductor and photolithography process and equipment, including resist coat tracks and developers, Ultratech and ASML steppers. * Within the first six to twelve months, * Show measurable progress improving the area's performance in support of the site's goals. * Working with other engineers and technicians, lead and deliver on at least one cost reduction or yield improvement project. * Develop advanced sustaining responsibilities and contribute to cost reduction and capacity improvement projects in the photolithography processing area Requirements: * Bachelor's Degree from 4 year Engineering program is required * 1-2 years of experience in process engineering (photolithography) is preferred. * Candidate must be a self-starter with a history of project completion from previous work or school experience, with a focus on organization and detail. * Have working knowledge of application of statistical analysis and use of designed experiments. * Strong communicator, who can effectively work with all level of the manufacturing organization. * Hands-on experience in manufacturing or lab environment, which includes familiarity and mechanical skills with equipment operation. * Familiarity with various programming languages including C , VBA, or Python. * Familiarity with database design and data collection. * Previous experience with photolithography process and measurement equipment.
