ON Semiconductor in Mountain Top, PA is expanding and looking to hire a Process Sustaining Engineer to support our expansion.
This is a dynamic and challenging manufacturing environment fabricating advanced Power MOSFET devices. This position will be in the thin films area and will be responsible for sustaining manufacturing. This position will also have additional responsibilities to support yield improvement, Technology Development, and technology transfers in and out of the resident fab.
Process engineering at the 200mm ON Pennsylvania fab includes the maintenance and control of the processes, providing SPC reaction plans, dispositioning nonconforming product and implementing Fault Detection and Classification (FDC) where needed.
The Thin Films process engineer will be expected to evaluate and implement creative solutions which improve performance, yield, cycle time, and reliability.
In addition they will be expected to help develop new processes and reduce cost.
The individual will also work with equipment technicians to resolve process/equipment issues.
Within 30 days:
The successful candidates will understand the process engineering procedures, the tools and methods available for data generation, extraction and analysis as well as a broad understanding of the scope of the current and future projects within the organization.
They will also take the time to study and understand the variety of processes that are currently in production at our factory and be given time to understand the integration of the various modules through documentation and discussion with key engineering personnel.
Within 90 days:
The successful candidates will have a full understanding of the Thin Films unit processes, including capabilities of both the tooling and the fab infrastructure will be expected.
A working knowledge of fab process change procedures and appropriate engineering protocols will be achieved.
Particular focus will be given to designed experiments and analysis of various data sources.
Within the first 6 months:
BS in Microelectronic, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
5 years of experience in Process Engineering with experience in thin films.
Solid understanding of semiconductor device physics.
Background in semiconductor process technology and wafer fabrication.
Ability to utilize DOE and statistical analysis.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Must be an effective team player.
Proven problem solving ability and track record of achieving end results
Experience with AMAT and Novellus CVD/SACVD and PVD systems
Experience with FDC software (Brookside, Fabguard or equivalent)
Ability to effectively work with a team of manufacturing operators, equipment and process technicians as well as other engineers to achieve overall department goals.
Six-sigma training (black or green belt), and/or lean manufacturing certification is a plus
